When "Heat" was released I was like 13 years old and I bought it, NO ONE knew about her in my city ! I love that record, I still play it from time to time

Toni really has a disconnect with r&b radio today. I just don't get it. She use to smash! Toni's record label situation has been her biggest downfall. Timing is everything. There shouldn't have been a 3 year gap between TB and secrets and there certainly shouldn't have been a 4 year break between Secrets and The Heat. Toni and Laface didn't really spend the time developing her fanbase imo. Her first two albums were consumed by the general public.

I think LaFace and Toni were feuding at that time between Secrets and The Heat as well.

I love Family Values.

I don't really like the music she does nowadays though. It's quite dated &... i don't know... she just doesn't really fit in todays's musical landscape.

I am so pleased that there was a Toni revival while I was away on holiday!

She's one of the most, if no the most, underrated female artist from the 90's.

She definitely wasn't underrated in the '90s...

She would've been bigger nowadays (probably seen as one of the big '90s divas) if she put out good albums more frequently.
