It has been exactly 12 years since the ‘Queen of K-Pop’, BoA, debuted in Korea!

On August 25th, the singer updated her Twitter page with a message for fans that read, “Today’s the day of my 12th anniversary since my debut.. Wow… A year flies like a bullet, but thank you so much for congratulating me every year.. Although it’s hard to actually grasp the fact that it’s been however many years, I’ll always be a singer who returns with the best music and performance.. Thank you so much!!”

BoA made her official debut on August 25th, 2000 with her debut project ‘ID: Peace B‘. Despite debuting at a young age of 15 (Korean age), she quickly rose to stardom with her remarkable skills.

Singer BoA has become the new face of cosmetics brand Missha.

BoA wrapped up shooting her first 2012 advertisement with Missha, which features the star against a purple backdrop. She’ll be endorsing the popular ‘Night Repair Science Activator Ampoule’ product from Missha’s ‘Time Revolution’ line.

A representative from the brand commented, “We took BoA’s luxurious image and portrayed it in an artistic way for this advertisement… She was recognized as a beauty star after all the close-ups of her flawless, clear skin on ‘K-Pop Star‘, and she portrays the image of a savvy, charismatic career woman.”

BoA previously acted as Missha’s endorsement model from 2003 to 2006.

After the release of the album cover of the upcoming single “Disturbance“, it has been revealed that BoA‘s brother Kwon Soon Wook has once again featured as the director of the MV, showing support for his sister.

BoA will perform and unveil the music video for the new single for the first time during her solo concert, ‘BoA Special Live 2013 ~Here I Am~‘, on the 26th and 27th.

To make the music video even more special, SHINee‘s Taemin, who was seen posing as a couple with BoA on the album cover, will also be starring in the music video along with BoA! The two have already shown their chemistry during their performances of the soloist’s latest single “Only One“, and have fans hyped up to see them coupling up again.

BoA’s first solo concert will be held at the Seoul Olympic Hall on the 26th and 27th. For those who can’t attend the concert, “Disturbance” will be released on music sites on the 28th.

^ I love it. As much as I adore the electronic/pop sound of Hurricane Venus (my favourite album of 2010), she's equally amazing with this more mellow sound.

I'm so curious about the chart position and sales for "Only One". She was definately fading with "IDENTITY" and hasn't released anything in Japan for 3(?) years right? I hope this doesn't flop for her, considering her HUGE success in the past!

Well, so far in Oricon charts, the song debuted at #10 on its first week.

Mmmm a top ten with those abysmal sales is quite sad tbh... Considering how popular BUT all Japanese solo female artists are flopping OR underperforming compared to their past sales / compared to the whole girl's group - boybands frenzy that's invaded Japan for the last 3 years...
At least she's the most succesful female soloist from Korea ... 8-)

BoA has become ‘The Face of Colors‘ for ‘United Colors of Benetton‘s ’2013 S/S Global Campaign’ in Asia.

The face models will share their stories of passion, creativity, and more for the theme, ‘The Face of Colors’. The clothing brand chose BoA for the significant role she plays as a Hallyu wave icon who represents female empowerment. She’s currently a judge on ‘K-Pop Star‘ where she helps people pursue their dreams.

BoA will represent the 10th color, silver, of the campaign and ‘Benetton Korea’s director Kim Chang Soo explained why. “She debuted at the early age of 13 and continued to conduct activities without rest and has become the front-runner of the K-Pop Hallyu wave. We used silver to express the magnificence of her as a mentor who dreams a vision for the future. As an Asian model who possesses both beauty and talent, BoA was chosen as an endorsement model because she fits well with the global campaign’s direction and the fundamental social responsibility of the Benetton group.”

BoA and Kawamura Ryuichi will be singing the theme songs for Fuji TV’s upcoming daytime drama, ‘Hakui no Namida‘, which starts on April 1st.

‘Hakui no Namida’ is set in a general hospital in a quiet town near the seaside. The protagonist will be played by Mizuno Miki, and her husband will be played by Nagai Masaru.

The opening theme will be BoA’s new song, “Tail of Hope“, which she’ll be releasing as her new single early-summer.

Meanwhile, the ending theme will be Kawamura’s new song, “Nanairo“. This song was written especially for the drama, and it’s scheduled for release on May 29th in both CD and CD+DVD versions.
