Can't fault her performance in the film because she played the part well, but I still think given her past acting roles Anne Hathaway was a wrong pick for Catwoman?
Well I guess that shows that the risk paid off I thought she was incredible.

To be fair, I have read about the previous two and the characters in them. Lemo should do that.

INCREDIBLE. :o

I knew it would be. Hard to comment without giving away spoilers. Suffice to say, the plot twists were good (one I half-figured before I went in, the other I didn't at all). A couple of very minor flaws in terms of editing and one character's demise but overall it really was an experience and I loved every freaking second of it.

I saw it as literal, I took it as literal. The movie isn't Inception or Memento. There were no other scenes where the viewer was meant to wonder if it was real or not so why would that one suddenly be?
Yes, there were! Ra's Al Ghul's appearance

Kermode has interviewed Nolan (for next Wednesday's The Culture Show). He knows what he's talking about.

There is heated debate on IMdb over this, the level of vitriol and disrespect given to people proposing this theory is ridiculous. The film is about belief. What do you believe?

People are saying his appearence was real too!? Oh lord!
He appeared in a suit and disappeared in smoke! C'mon!

I interviewd Nolan too, Kermode isn't the be all and end all of film knowledge.

Oh, whatever! Doesn't it enhance a film if it has multiple interpretations? I didn't think any of this when i was watching it, either! But when he brought it up, i assumed it was a common talking point among fans.

When did you interview him? :o

This was a bittersweet weekend for Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises, the third and final installment of his Batman films, returning Christian Bale to the Caped Crusader's cowl, joined by Michael Caine, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Morgan Freeman. After the brutal shootings in Aurora, Colorado on Friday, what should have been a fun and exciting weekend of moviegoing turned into a somber and more subdued affair where all movies seemed to be affected.

Following Warner Bros.' lead to be sensitive to the families of the victims, all the major studios decided to hold off on reporting box office estimates throughout the weekend, but today, the studio reports that Nolan's latest brought in $160.9 million from 4,404 theaters. It's the best opening ever for a 2D title, beating The Dark Knight's $158.4 million opening, and the third-biggest debut overall domestically, trailing just Marvel's The Avengers ($207.4 million) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 ($169.2 million). $19 million of the total came from 332 IMAX theaters the movie is playing in. The Dark Knight Rises, which received a CinemaScore of A, took in $75.5 million on Friday, $44.9 million on Saturday and another $40.2 million on Sunday.

Internationally, The Dark Knight Rises earned $88 million from 17 markets for a worldwide total of $249 million after one weekend. IMAX screens contributed $4.8 million overseas.

Saw this today and I was blown away.

What great casting, every actor was amazing (Especially Anne, she was great as Catwoman)

I left the cinema and wanted to go back and watch it again ... Lol

It was alright. There was too much talking going on. The 'hell on Earth' was a joke. Bane's voice would've been hilarious if it hadn't been so unrealistic. Which young man speaks like that? Action was sparse, and frankly, unsatisfying. Catwoman was terrific, though.

What I liked about this film? The concentrated, heart-rending feeling it inspired in my chest when batman flies towards the water with the bomb. I wanted to shout and I wanted to just smile, or cry - I don't know. The ending was brilliant.

Again, the entire cast of the film, except Freeman and Cotillard, is gay. Yes, even Hathaway. And what is the purpose of saying this? To provide you with the hope, no matter how dim, of getting into Bale's/Ford's/Levitt's/Hathaway's pants one fine day.

^DON'T SPOIL ENDINGS IN FILMS!!

Christian Bale isn't gay, nor are Michael Caine, Tom Hardy or most of the rest. Hardy based Bane's voice on a real boxer called Bartley Gorman. He's hardly a normal young man.

The movie was okay, a little bit long for me and a little slow. I don't like Christian Bale, so I was not excited from the beginning. Anna Hathaway was okay as catwoman.

Sorry, I meant Hardy. And I am sorry for the spoilers. I'll remove them.

It may be crazy but it is also true.
