Just been wondering: where's Dido? Where's her career?

Today (November 2nd) will be released the soundtrack of the film '127 Hours'. The soundtrack has been made by A.R. Rahman, and Dido appears in one song, 'If I Rise' (lyrics by her and her brother Rollo, and music by A.R.R.).

She also has been working with Lester Mendez and Jason Mraz.

She's also using Ping now where she confirmed that she's in studio working on her 4th album. :lol:

Just to add that colaboration with Mraz is for his album.

Maybe too many similar sounding artists have become succesful since Dido disappeared, and these have managed to fill the "Dido gap" enough to prevent her from "resurrecting"?

At least she has provided us with a few not compensable songs

I think her brand of music isn't resonating with the masses anymore, which is a shame since it was quite good.

That would explain the downfall of the brilliant Jem as well.

I don't know it too.....

But I can't wait for her new album, I'm happy that it won't be so much time to wait as usual, and I hope she has learnt the lesson, and plans a good market strategy to promote it:Safe Trip Home era has been a real mess :evil:

Dido talks about Oscar nomination and her fourth album which should be finished soon. Jeff Bhasker, Greg Kurstin and Rick Nowels are confirmed as collaborators which is a very good sign IMO.

I can imagine how weirdly emotional it would be for a singer to hold an Oscar. No singer dreams of it when they work. Yet, its a huge achievement.

I'm afraid that the fact that A.R. Rahman won 2 Oscars 2 years ago may affect If I Rise chances :s
The only rival I see is YBWM (TS 3) because it's been a while since Randy's last Oscar, but talking about quality, in my opinion, If I Rise is at least better than the other 2 for sure!

And about the new album, I can't wait for it! Rick Nowels and Dido make an amazing team, and I love Jeff work too!
