The signature pipes of Christina Aguilera are back and sounding stronger than ever in the world premiere of “Express”, the lead single from upcoming feature film Burlesque.
The single is the first of eight songs by Christina on the motion picture soundtrack for Burlesque, which also stars music legend Cher. The soundtrack hits stores and iTunes November 22, and the film hits theatres on Thanksgiving weekend.
NOt so terrible imho, it seems a sort of 70s porn movie meets Great Gatsby meets Mme Tussaud adv!tada wrote:the promotion looks very good! on the other hand the cover is absolutely terrible and cheap. i really don't what to expect from this album on chart basis
Antin wrote and directed the $55-million movie — which tells the story of an Iowa girl (Aguilera) who goes from barmaid to leading lady as a singer and dancer in a Sunset Strip club — at the urging of Clint Culpepper, the president of Screen Gems and Antin's partner of 20 years.
Screen Gems typically spends less than $30 million making its pictures and gravitates toward horror, action and teen comedies. It put more than twice that sum, before the benefit of a state tax credit, into making "Burlesque." Nevertheless, Culpepper, who noted that he has worked with 18 first-time directors in his career at Screen Gems, said he never even considered another director for the project.
The movie and Christina's acting is getting almost great reviews from people who were at the free screenings. I hope they get their money back and it's a success for her/them.Despite it all, the movie, which is the most expensive in Screen Gems history, scored record highs for Sony with a test audience in Arizona last month. It's fair to say that despite all the battling, the movie could please the audience that the studio is aiming for.
Marketing and theatrical distribution costs aren't included with production costs.candyman wrote:A very long article about Burlesque but here are quotes about the budget of the movie:

MoreThough RCA hasn't serviced a soundtrack single to radio, Ryan Seacrest premiered the track "Express" on his website on Nov. 3, and Seviour says the label will revisit the idea of a single after the movie opens. Cher appeared on "Late Show With David Letterman" on Nov. 11, while Seviour says Aguilera is scheduled to perform material from the soundtrack Nov. 21 at the American Music Awards and Nov. 23 on the season finale of "Dancing With the Stars."
I hope(wish) they release Bound To You around December in Eruope since the movie is out in January/February in most European countries. It could be a hit if she performs it on some big shows like X Factor finale, Wetten Dass or Supertalent finale in Germany and many more (just watch her impressive performance of the song on Tonight Show with Jay Leno).LostAvenger wrote:"Express" was serviced as the radio single in Italy last week and I presume it has to parts of Europe too.
