Yep but she's still @ No 2 and will see an increase due to the TV promo in early June.

Am I right in saying "21" the biggest selling album in the US by a UK female singer?

I checked the list of the diamond-certified US albums (10m+);

There isn't an album by a UK female singer so you're almost certainly right. Unless there is an album with ~9.5m sales which has narrowly failed to make diamond.

But essentially: yes.

In my opinion, I think she will hit diamond in the USA (for shipped) in July. When in July? No idea, but she will get it by then. She only needs to get to like at least 9.6-9.7, for it to be certified diamond. As to when the album passes 10 million sold, I'd say by late August, early September.

Agree! Late August/early Sept sounds very rational. And if she sells 10mln copies in early Sept, she could hit 11 mark by the end of the year :) That'd be stunning achievement. 11mln copies in less than 2 years! And that's all in 2012!!! :P Many big albums from the golden years still have problems with selling even 10mln units 8-)

^^^

Certified 11x platinum and sold 11 by the end of the year seems really really hard at the rate she'll sell after June, but if it does happen. Norah Jones fans won't be happy.

Like they wouldn't know that 21 would surpass Come Away With Me someday  ... Just compare both album's chart runs: It was nothing but obvious!
Come Away With Me did great and all but 21 is really another level  .

I wonder which sales landmark she will hit first:

-10m (actual, not certified) sales in the US
- outselling Morning Glory in the UK

I think these two feats will happen around the same time (early September-ish)

The hope would have to be that towards the end of the year there will more album buying going on, and because "rising water raises all boats" her sales will improve a bit along with the market in general.

Also, I assume that sometime this year they will reduce the price a bit - in some places 21 is still quite a bit more expensive than some of its competitors.

If there's no an Olimpics effect, she'll pass Oasis in early/late October IMO

actually you may be right.......if she keeps at current sales (13k) it will take until mid-September and we would expect a bit of a drop so might take a bit longer.

Annoying because it seems so close but it's deceptively far away! :P

It's the biggest selling album ever by a female not from North America I believe.
