Monica - New Life

I think the thing with this album, besides the fact that it is very been there done that, is that it doesn't really have stand out tracks such as Still Standing. Still think this is a great album, I'm glad I still have a favorite artist of mine that sticks to some good ol' R&B.

A different theme would have been better as well. It's like she stuck with the same concept.

If not, we can pretty much predict her next album title.

@ y'all. OK, OK, so this album ain't gonna set no records or nuthin. Hopefully it's lukewarm reception will prompt her back into the studio to cook up somethin a lil spicier.

In the meantime, there's still some mint tracks to kick back to.

I hate to say it but this album is extremely uneventful.

Not bad. Just boring...which might as well be bad but whatever.

The album is actually growing on me every day. But I agree, it's nothing special - if Mo wasn't singing it, I would NOT listen to most of the songs on here. There is nothing as amazing as Everything To Me or Here I Am on here.

I appreciate for her sticking with r & b. However, the music here is totally boring and all of the songs sound the same. This whole album just sounds like one long, sappy ballad.

Was just listening to this whilst driving and came to the conclusion that where she went wrong in this era, and should have learnt from last lessons, is that she went the ghetto route.

Everytime The Beat Drops was her lesson to have learnt from.

And people were embracing a very classy previous era. And then she comes with the biggie sample as her lead single!!!

I don't think 'Anything (To Find You)' was ghetto. Yeah, it had the sample, but she made it her own song.

I'd say the biggest blip was 'It All Belongs To Me'. A lot of people were interested in that duet (not just us R&B fans), but the song was so underwhelming.
