Unless the single can do a California Gurls, and have longevity then it's really not. Releasing to iTunes too early was what stopped Taylor Swift's Mine from going to #1.floria wrote:I think it is.Woaah wrote:Going to radio and iTunes the same day?
Not a good idea, Jive.
I think it's a smart move. I guess they want a #1 debut again. With this huge hype, first week airplay must be huge for sure. And it'll be exclusively available on itunes for 1 week, before the song is available in other music stores the week after. They want to maximize first week sales. They had a meeting with iTunes so we can expect heavy iTunes promotion (front page banner, page full of Britney, etc.)Woaah wrote:Going to radio and iTunes the same day?

It may peak lower but it will sell more.Woaah wrote:Unless the single can do a California Gurls, and have longevity then it's really not. Mine sold 297,000 copies on four days of sales. Since the song leaked so early, the label sent it to iTunes on August 4th, rather than August 16th.Woaah wrote:Unless the single can do a California Gurls, and have longevity then it's really not. this but "Mine" definitely did not fare so excellently as hoped, it took ages to see the video to support it as well as live performences. Today it's trend to release song on iTunes instantly but actually it can block the song from getting No.1 (Top 5 or Top 3 very often happens instead) as sales falter next weeks with rising yet not-so-fast airplayYouknowit wrote:Mine sold 297,000 copies on four days of sales. Britney will have six days of sales, and 7 or 8 days of airplay.
I love how people talk of sales before even hearing itbritneyfan09 wrote:Now that we have some details how much do you guys predict HIAM will do first week and where it will land on the Hot 100?
and you may add that Britney hasn't had a hit as big as CG since... her debut maybe?Woaah wrote:Unless the single can do a California Gurls, and have longevity then it's really not. Umm the song is going to iTunes January 11th which is the premiere date. The song will most likely sell off hype and name alone for the first day or two.shake_yo_ass wrote:I love how people talk of sales before even hearing itbritneyfan09 wrote:Now that we have some details how much do you guys predict HIAM will do first week and where it will land on the Hot 100?![]()
