I've probably said this before...but your chart is almost (possibly even more) stagnant than the Hot 100 (the Top 10, anyway). I'm glad to see "The Roof" hanging in there, and "Express Yourself" inching up a bit, but I'm ready for a real shake-up! maybe a couple Top 5 debuts? a No. 1 debut, even? ;)

Aww no I don't think it's stagnant, he just genuinely enjoys the music and doesn't just toss it away so quickly, I love that. :D 8-)

Ah, finally a page devoid of RiRi hate. *Inhales fresh air* :P

Your Top 5 is led by quite the epic tune, Florence + The Machine's best song to date really. "The Roof" and "Blue Jeans" are great and "Breath of Life" and "Express Yourself" are both good. :)

Yeah you kinda mentioned it a lot haha    I guess when I get addicted, well, I get addicted  8-) and maybe some top 5 debuts this week, who knows, but #1 debut? I don;t think any song I have heard in the past few weeks will debut #1 or any time soon. I guess those top 2 debuts are mostly for those epic lead singles and occasional others, but mostly from my faves

Week 20 of 2012

Top 20 Songs
ImageImage
Rolling In The High: This week, No Light does something amazing, it increases its week at #1 with 9 now (some songs don't even stay in the top 20 that long...) and as it is celebrating, The Roof is just sighing it's at least stood still and is still #2. Florence's newest single (Breath of Light) inches to the top 3, making Florence have two top 3 hits, I think only Taylor Swift did that with her Double A singles (Mean and The Story of Us which ended up becoming the two biggest hits of the year). Also thanks to the amazing recommendations last week, a male debuts haha! His name? Paul... Paul Simon. His epic "How Can You Live In The Northeast" debts high in the top 10! Congrats!(He also debuts with one other track lower). You will see him again in the albums chart. Marina also celebrates her first top 10 with Homewrecker. Here's the top 20 songs of the week.

For now, I have to go somewhere but I managed to get at least everything in order, the songs chart is completed, all I need is the albums' sales which I'm sure many of you aren't too crazy for haha. I will edit it when I come back.

Woooo for the Paul Simon takeover!!! :o 8-) I've actually not heard "The Essential" yet, I've listened to all of his studio albums however! That explains why I see "Kodachrome" a song from his 1973 album "There Goes Rhymin' Simon". :P

I hope to see him smashing up the charts over the next few weeks with his albums. :D Woo of course for Amy & Klaus as always both fantastic. 8-)

any rate, nice to see that Britney's dominating 20% of your album chart! not too surpising, considering your current countdown...but still nice ;) I don't usually follow your album chart, but has Speak Now ever fallen off?

It's always a great chart when "No Light, No Light" is #1 and it's made even greater when Marina & The Diamonds's "Homewrecker" climbs to a new peak. :)

(1)(1)* No Light, No Light - Florence + The Machine (1)(18)
(2)(2)* The Roof - Mariah Carey (1)(8)
(4)(3)* Breath of Life - Florence + The Machine (3)(3)
(6)(4)* Express Yourself - Madonna (4)(2)

(9)(11)* Both of Us - B.o.B. ft. Taylor Swift (8)(3)
(13)(12)* And Then We Kiss - Britney Spears (3)(6)
(11)(15)- Chasing The Light - Amy Studt (5)(6)
(8)(16)- Chasing The Sun - The Wanted (7)(4)
(15)(19)- American Life - Madonna (15)(4)
(17)(20)- Heart Skips a Beat - Olly Murs ft. Rizzle Kicks (17)(2)

As for your albums chart, I'm super happy to see Britney with so many entries. I spot no Femme Fatale though. :-?

(2)(1)* Ceremonials - Florence + The Machine
(1)(2)- Butterfly - The Roof
(18)(3)* Speak Now - Taylor Swift
(3)(5)- Born to Die - Lana Del Rey
(13)(6)* - Britney - Britney Spears
(16)(7)* In The Zone - Britney Spears

(17)(13)* MDNA - Madonna

Week One of 2012

I'm In a State of Welcome... This week, my chart returns with a clean slate for the new year, 2013! I hope my old followers and maybe some new ones will continue joining me on my journey of spilling out my favourites in music weekly. I hope y'all will find some you like! This week, Taylor dominates both the singles and albums charts, having both #1's there with her latest #1 album, Red and 3 songs in the top 10! State of Grace is a way to kick off the year in 2013, becoming her first nonsingle (so far) to top my chart and her eighth chart topper overall extending her lead. Fleetwood Mac is also very present in both charts (2 in the top 5, 3 in the top 20! and two albums!). A lot of my favourite albums of the previous year have been playing a lot again since the year is over, so expect some here. Entries from Bruno Mars, Kesha, Lana Del Rey, The Lumineers, The Weeknd, Mumford & Sons, and even Florence & The Machine (yes.. still!) make an impact this week!
