Great to see this moving up towards the top 10! Wouldn't it be amazing and sooo unexpected if they scored a top 10 hit with this in the US?! :o 8-)

The Chelsea Lately interview was so funny! I love that show. Poor Siva though!!

The Apple site doesn't include explicit songs, so that's why it's #9 on that list. It's #12.

really gutted that One Direction are at no.10 on US Itunes and The Wanted have fell to 22. The wanted have been working really hard over there gigging away in smaller venues and doing loads and loads of radio interviews for the past 3 months to get recognition whereas On Direction just seem to wonder over there do no promo or interviews and all of a sudden there meant to be the new best thing??? please,

what happened to working hard for success? Maybe Simon Cowell can make anything happen for anyone in the US if he really wanted too.

Anyone know what airplay is like for TW and 1D?

^ It shouldn't come as a surprise the exact same thing happened in Australia a few months ago, 'What Makes You Beautiful' ended up being the big hit of the two.

@karlsberg that's very pointless and kinda noseanse to say... I mean about Simon Cowell and 1D.. they did that without SECOND of promo in US...So how exectley Simon did it for them?? Like what, he bought all copies of single that made it top 10 on Itunes!?

anyway, both bands are great, and I hope that they will both have success in US, they deserve it!!

"What Makes You Beautiful" hasn't gone for adds yet, so "Glad You Came" is way ahead in terms of airplay:

THE WANTED - Glad You Came: 38.681 (+ 1.457)
ONE DIRECTION - What Makes You Beautiful: 0.586

ah, it's been a looong time since we've had duelling boybands on the US charts. ;)

It appears that One Direction(not surprisingly) is having a little more success than The Wanted here in America. One Direction are being promoted by Nickelodeon/iCarly. The Wanted seem to be getting the most airplay on our radio stations here. One Direction is relying heavily on our tween market.

1D will be on iCarly in the spring and Nickelodeon just played their clip once.. So it's not like their being promoted there yet...

They don't have to get that much promoted, just like Tokio Hotel, Justin Bieber and Jonas Bros. there is some kind of whirlwind which brings such "hypes" to teens worldwide at some point. I see loads of (little) girls tweeting about them, add the fact that 1D's videos get spread on Facebook as the flu and you can see why they can get such high positions without doing much promo.

(apologies if it came out wrong) but what i meant is that if 1D didn't come from x factor and weren't involved with Simon Cowell they certainly wouldnt be releasing material in America he's certainly helped build up the buzz and excitement around them, he would of instigated alot of the teen channels interest.....if JLS would of agreed to sign with cowell after X Factor im sure maybe there status could of well been very different over there...however they wouldnt of had hardly any control.

I just think (IMO) gold old fashioned gigging and building up your own fan base by doing so is the more credible way of doing things just as TW are doing...but maybe thats just because of the era of pop groups and artists i come from.

Dont get me wrong i do like music both these bands make...i just think 1D should develop more before moving on to the US market.

^understandable, but One Direction's single is REALLY strong!

it reminds me of Backstreet Boys and NSYNC's first singles! which is a crazy but true comparison (for me)

one of the boy bands singles were definitely sonically stronger, and trust me i LOVE The Wanted's Glad You Came.
