Did anyone think Eddie the Eagle was Irish?

Ireland has never won an Olympic medal at the Winter Games; the best result remains Clifton Wrottesley's 4th place in the skeleton at the Salt Lake City Games in 2002.

Irish golfers have won 5 majors in the last 4 years (after only winning 1 major in the previous 140 or so years).
