I want start this theme about achievements for all Irish athlets and teams in World & Euro Championships, World Cups, Summer & Winter Olympics and another famous sport competitions..

Rugby is most successful sport for Ireland.

Did anyone think Eddie the Eagle was Irish?

Ireland has never won an Olympic medal at the Winter Games; the best result remains Clifton Wrottesley's 4th place in the skeleton at the Salt Lake City Games in 2002.

Irish golfers have won 5 majors in the last 4 years (after only winning 1 major in the previous 140 or so years).
