I've figured I don't like half of my CD collection anymore.

Most of the CD's I own I don't listen to either! I have two CD racks with CD's I love and another bundle of CD's I like on the floor next to them but the rest of my CD's, that I have been buying since 1997, are out of sight, out of mind in some press or on the top of a wardrobe.

I don't think I'll be interested in playing about 75% of my CDs ever again, and that goes for a lot of the stuff on my iTunes as well. It's either plain rubbish or it just no longer interests me.

Or just do what I did and hide them away so that one day, many years from now, you can look back and ask yourself what was I thinking back then!!

this never works. when I re-discover some of my self-made compilations from 1999/2000 I get always stuck spinning the whole thing, thinking how awesome the music is and the good ol' times were.

About 2 weeks ago I gave about 40 CDs to charity! I was going to trade them in at CEX/hmv or somewhere but that would have required me to take them all into the town centre (and look scuzzy) so I thought I would feed my soul and donate.

I now have about 120 CDs that I like!

Well it might have that effect too. Depends on how good the music is that is hidden away.

I think I need to, but it's hard to know where to start because I've been in a bubble for so long.

If I ever had to give away one of my CDs, I would cry and never come out of my room again.

Wow, really? I'm looking at my bottom shelf right now and I'd quite happily bin all of it. Especially Jessie J.

There's so much music out there it can be ridiculous to find somewhere to start, Last FM is wonderful for recommending new artists/albums but if you only listen to a few genres it won't take you too far out of your bubble. :P Just throw yourself into all different genres! :D When it comes to developing a taste for completely new genres it can take time but not always too long. ;)

There is more than just pop, wishy washy rnb and life sucked dance, I know that much! :P

Is Jessie J's album that bad?

I hate her dull Price Tag, but when it comes to that ghetto attempt of the first single I actually like her a bit!
