New (UK) Single Confirmed today

- Everybody's on the Run
- Release Date: August 6th, 2012

To include a 15 AA remix of AKA... What A Life!!!

Hope it has a solid B-Side, but just the fact that he is releasing a 5th single I guess should be news enough.

Hopefully now with the official release date, it will be on Radio soon and we can see how it does on Airplay charts soon.

Looks like NME got the news first.

Do we know yet if this will only be a UK/European single of a US release will be included. I believe he's only had 1 US single which I find completely absurd.

First impression of the new video. Could have been way better imo, more epic to fit the song, but the song is so good I guess the video doesn't matter. Noel has always been tongue in cheek with his videos and this fits right into his style and we all know he is a creature of habit.

Now that the video is out, guess we should all check the Itunes singles downloads, to see if he may chart next week.

UK Itunes Update

#74 - AKA... What A Life
- From one source he's at 747 copies sold in past 24 hrs. That would put him at over another 5k this week if pace keeps up. Maybe he might eventually get to 200k by the end of the year.

Album is at #30 still. Guessing if it stays there, then it should stick in Top 40 another week.

Since the 2012 YTD hasn't been updated in a few weeks, still trying to compile/estimate what sales are.

I'm coming up with:
- 157,350 for YTD
- 649,850 for Total

Chart hasn't been run in a few weeks so I estimated at 2,550 for 2 weeks ago and 6k last week. If this seems way off, let me know. Not sure if the YTD are actual figures or just guesstimates anyways, so trying to keep up since it looks like he may sell well for a few more weeks.

Worldwide sales recap. If anyone has any info to add.

I think that we finished 2011 with about 800K worldwide sales. I am pretty sure he passed 1 million a while ago.

Additional Sales:

UK 156K
Japan ~13K
(Last I could find was December 15 @ 59K now he is 73.2K)
Brazil 2k (based on shipments)
Miscellaneous 8K for the second week of January. (He popped up on the Global album chart with sales of 22K. UK sales were ~13K that week and in Japan he was selling ~900/week at that time)

He had reentries in Belgium(#93-71-79-91-91-93-128-110), Italy(#80, #96), New Zealand (#39), Australia (#80)

He was still doing pretty well in the Irish Album charts through January, February, March. We don't have any figure on thost sales though.
Chart run for 2012 in Ireland 18-20-21-21-22-24-14-30-33-57-70-48-30-39-54-77-OUT

Anyone have an estimate of what that chart run would look like in terms of sales out of Ireland?

I think that 980,000 is a certainty. But we still have to add the 2012 sales of Ireland, Italy, Austalia, Belgium, and New Zealand. It's very probable that he has already passed 1 million worldwide!

AKA Single Estimte for last week:

- 4,500 sales

Paul McCartney was 70 last Monday, and Paul Weller celebrated the occasion by releasing his version of Birthday, a song from The Beatles' eponymous 1968 album, aka The White Album. Debuting at number 64 (4,623 sales), it is 54 year old Weller's 73rd hit – 65 of which have made the Top 40 – since his 1977 debut with The Jam.

If 'The Chief' could stick around for 5-6 more weeks in the Top 100, he might just make silver single? Can't remember what's it called, but I think it's significant at 200k isn't it?

I think 985-990k is pretty spot on. I've been trying to figure it up to, but I don't think Ireland is a very large market, but I could be wrong on that. And the other blips on the chart's could mean 1-2k here or as little as 300-500. I'm thinking by knowing 980k and lumping the rest at 10k would seem good. If he keeps up just a few more weeks in the Top 25, it won't matter, he'll be at 1mil for certainty based on the UK push alone.

AKA (UK) estimation update:

With Noel around ~170k (estimate) or so, that put's him at roughly #16 behind Shakermaker and in front of Little by Little. The numbers I pulled from are from 2009, but I would think with those two songs, I doubt the singles market for them are high if not non-existant.

Found on another forum, but oasisbobo compiled it, so if you got the updated singles list 'ob', let us know where he stands to see which single is next on the list for toppling.

Hopefully the 2nd quarter numbers will come out in July to give us an updated 'total' for AKA to see how it fares against all the other singles.

Great to see him sticking it out even if at 400-500 copies a week. By the time him and BDi play the Japan festival, we may see them both chart and give us a good updated total for both bands.
