I dare to say that Birthday Cake Remix could have reached the top spot on Billboard Hot 100. The hype was so huge, so that Birthday Cake (Interlude) flew up inside the top 50.

A missed opportunity.

Agreed. Rihanna should have released the remix but with her singing Chris Brown's vocals. The performance of it at Hackney was great. It going #24 on the BB hot 100 and #2 on the R&B charts shows with no video and no promotion shows the hype. Still, from a business standpoint Def Jam racked up $$ for 800,000 downloads of a 1 minute song.

I also think BK could have done good, but her label should have taken some action around that time, either focus on TTT or BK but they basically just let BK rise in US and did nothing with both songs.

I guess tehy didn't agree with what happened, but they really should have taken advantage of the situation.

like foxygraandpa said she could have released a solo version or even a remix EP with different features and having Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj or Kanye West etc. remixes for it.

If she had released the song with just her vocals then no one would have really cared. The hype around the song was because of Chris Brown on the track. Plus he added more sex appeal to it!

The production is the best part about Rihanna songs.

The instrumentals to Red Lipstick, Cockiness, Watch 'N Learn, Where Have You Been, We Found Love, Roc Me Out, Talk That Talk and Birthday Cake slay.
I can feel this light that's inside of me, growing fast into a bolt of lightning. I know one spark will shock the world...

What does everyone think the next single should be? I personally can't decide!

I definitely think "Farewell" could do really well Sept-Oct time, when all the freshers are leaving home for uni.

+ She could have a really big X Factor performance.

I also think that "Talk That Talk" could be a much bigger hit with a video.

I kind of doubt there will be another single though.

No statement yet... Even though WHYB is falling on the chart.

If we talk about an urban single, release Cockiness!

Talk That Talk actually was "released" in some countries already, it got radio support but because she wasn't able to shoot a video because Jay wasn't available and she basically let it die by releasing BK and not doing much after it worldwide, it didn't do a thing.
She could "re-release" it, but will the same support return...
