This is often the case with concept albums, that just like Blondini wrote.. they don't seem to focus on the actual music but the flawed concept instead. HUmbug!

LÖÖÖÖGGGNNNERRR
In the case of NME, their readers don't always agree:
currently has a user rating of 7.7 on NME.com. - #3 top rated album as you can see:
http://www.nme.com/reviews?search=katy+perry&x=14&y=5
http://www.nme.com/reviews?search=rihanna&x=22&y=5
http://www.nme.com/reviews?search=lady+gaga&x=25&y=4

They were VERY generous with GaGa's latest plodder.

George Boorman of Clash scored the album one out of ten, dubbing it "an ingloriously languid statement of Marina's demise, the final stamp of disapproval on her flailing excuse of a musical career."
Someone should tell this George Boorman that the "final stamp of disapproval on her flailing excuse of a musical career" is this week's number one album.

I have not stopped playing Electra Heart since its release! Such a long time ago I enjoyed a pop album. It feels... in a way innocent and liberating.

Great news! :D :D
8-) #1 in the UK & Ireland. Eat that reviewers
how much did it sell though? Album sales have been terrible lately. I mean Adele is still near the top of the charts after almost 1.5 years.
Got a bottle of whatever but "Let's Get In This Truck" wtf

Apparently the sales were just 21k. I was hoping for around 35k to be honest :(

At least "Primadonna" has climbed again, so a good week for her overall.

I've been enjoying "The State Of Dreaming" lately, it didn't stand out to me at first.

It sold less than 'The Family Jewels' did in its first week!

21K is really low :( It will definitely fall out of the Top 5 next week. She needs to jump to the next single as soon as possible.

There's no "think" about it! We're talking a drop of at least six places, maybe 9 or 10 looking at iTunes.

Still, look at how most albums are dropping these days (Rufus down 5-31, Feeder down 13-72). Means little unless you're Xtina or Madonna.

And - this won't be too soon as she needs to recover her voice. Primadonna is still hanging around so it doesn't matter if the album drops. Best to wait till Prima drops low enough. The public hears it at least once a week on chart rundowns so it's not like she'll be forgotten! :P

It's my first time listening to this album and the track that standsout for me is the State of Dreaming! I love the chorus of it! Going to give the album more spins to get more into it.
And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in those years.

That's very late, isn't it? Middle of June would've been perfect. I've been listening extra careful to P&C after the announcment and can't decide whether it will do good or bad. But as Thriller wrote, it'll probably peak somewehere between top 30-40... unfortunately.

Lies would've been a much better single.

She has to postpone the tour by a month so everything revolves around that. It's not very late to me - gives her two months to recover/ do a video/ prepare everything. As it is already available to buy, and the promotion would start middle of June anyway we will see it chart from then. How can she do promotion now when she's ill and Primadonna is still high?

I love it. I love how many of her songs focus on the hypocritical people trying to bring us down. Are You Satisfied? and Girls were my favorites on the first album about that subject.
