30% increase is better than -14% decrease don't you think?

She can still do The Voice US

TV promo isn't necessary... People just have to discover her! Mumford & Sons e.g. sell constantly week after week for months now and did no notable promo because people discovered Little Lion Man or The Cave over friends or per internet and then wanted to check out their albums and this is how it should work for Lana Del Rey. All Mumford & Sons notably did is their Grammy performance (they didn't even won a single award and still profitted from it the most) and as Lana Del Rey is an album seller, too, the more the better isn't right when it comes to promo... People just need to discover her and if they do, the album can sell on its own for months!

To be honest I'd love to see Born To Die become a sleeper hit in the US and stay in the charts for years. Doesn't matter if it isn't a smash originally, Lana will take over there by stealth! 8-)

What do you mean? she has sold more than them
Minaj is #8 and Madonna #9 this week on the Mediatraffic Albums Chart. I think next week, Lana will pass them.

Wonder why US doesn't embrace her. Her album is smashing all over the world and moreover she's American!

It's the apparently "dreadful" SNL performance that has stuck in Americans' minds.

Annoying how one performance comes to define an artist, whether supposedly "great/iconic" (Adele's Brit performance of SLY) or "awful" (Lana's SNL). Her countrymen and women should really try listening to the whole album and they will be pleasantly surprised.
Counting down the days until 21 outsells Morning Glory in the UK.

I don't like Lana live either, but that has nothing to do with the quality of the album, which, indeed, is great in my opinion.

I believe Americans in particular can be negatively influenced by one performance only...

Sometimes i find American audiences a bit hypocrite. Remember Janet and Super Bowl incident? Just one performance and what happened to her career. But if she delivers a great performance, she might overturn things in US. No matter what, she's slaying in Europe and Ocenia and BTD is one of the year's best selling albums so i don't care about US anymore.

Her label hasn't really pushed a single song off BTD yet in the US which is just strange. She needs a hit single.

Hopefully that will change with SS, and they will finally release it as a first single.

She hasn't dropped a single in the United States yet.

That's why she's doing bad in America...

Well her songs are available on itunes and have been performed, were they sent to radios or radio simply doesn't play them?

So they won't accept her as an album artist who can sell millions of albums but not a creepy single?

Titan3510 has been talking about a single not album tracks!

Ehm, yes I know that and by the way, that doesn't answer my question at all.

Videogames and Blue Jeans were released as a separate EP on itunes, with many remixes, were promoted as singles and had a video. I wonder why they are not considered official singles.

It wasn't meant to be answer to your question.
It's just that Titan3510 said that there hasn't been an US single yet and you brought forward the argument that her songs are available on ITunes while that are her album tracks and not the singles...
