Britney's Criminal definitely deserves a nomination... but they probably don't care.

There isn`t an official date. :( According to my estimations MTV should announce them on the 28th, 29th of July or on the 1st of August! :D
1 shot everything rides on, tonight even if I`ve got 3 strikes I`mma go for it, this moment we own it...

The VMAs suck lately. The last memorable perfomance was Gaga's Paparazzi back in 2009.

The last memorable performance was indeed Love On Top by Beyonce! And that`s according to the critics, not to some people...

I dont give damn about the Paparazzi performance to be honest. And not only the critics remember Beyoncé for sure

The discussion made me listen to Love on Top *plays*

Well critics can say what they want but for me (and I'm not a Bey hater btw) it was horrible indeed. Revealing your belly on a stage must be the tackiest thing ever done in VMAs history. It was such a desperate move to promote the album. Never expected something like that from Beyonce. I always thought she was classy. Guess I was wrong.

I think people will remember Beyoncé showing her belly during that year, it's not really the performance that people talked about, and I'm a fan of her music don't get me wrong. :)

Who cares about the performances anyway? I'm only here for the nominations and the winners.

I for example hate during the Grammys when they only announce a dozen of category winners live but so much advertisements, performances and tributes between each that the show takes ages while I'd prefer if they showed went through more categories during the show...

I wonder what kind of people buy records based on pregnancy... Labels should stop wasting millions on promo compaign because most of albums struggle to sell even with a huge exposure on radio, tv and internet.
to the infinity and Beyoncé.

So true, especially for the Grammys, they only announce the categories wherein the famous artists are nominated!

ME  On award shows I'm only there for performances and red carpets as they are fun, I really don't care about awards/nominations and mostly don't find them relevant at all...

^I agree. Video Music Awards has nothing to do with the videos anyway, they just pick some of the most popular artists (well, except Rihanna - they always snub her for some reason) with a few non-mainstream artists (i.e. Florence + The Machine, Tyler The Creator, etc to gain more attention) and then divide them into several categories. Done.

Well, this a show after all. Everyone tunes in to watch the performances, the red carpet and any hot gossip to comment the next day. Let's be honest here, we all love to see controversies ala madonna kissing Britney and stuff like that haha.

Oh come on, Beyonce clearly did it because she was so overcome and happy. It wasn't at all a move to promote the album and she IS classy.
Now if she had gone on to sell the photo's of her baby to the papers/magazines or milk them with constant interviews or exclusives regarding her pregnancy then you would have a point, but she didn't and so I'm afraid I think you couldn't be more wrong about this.

So true! Out of all mainstream awards I find VMA most irrelevant (and that means something) as obviously they have nothing to do with actual videos ...
