Haha, no problem! Although Set Fire To The Rain isn't even her highest entry

I wasn't even bad, life's a journey and mine wasn't an easy ride
You never even got to see me rap

004. Professor Green featuring Emeli Sandé - Read All About It

And it's time for a pretty recent song now, Read All About It.
I absolutely ADORE this song, so putting it at #4 even seems low for me as I love it so much. But the other three songs are songs I've been listening to all year so deserved to chart a little bit higher.

Stephen is one of my favourite rappers and I think I've already said more than enough times how much I love Emeli. Together they are just the perfect musical combination as they showed with this song.
I remember people saying that Emeli makes this song and I agree with the fact that the chorus is stunning. But don't forget about Stephen's verses which are just as strong! It's such an emotional song aswell, the lyrics really touched me and it's such a special song for me.
The video is great aswell, it tells the story of the song so well. And then ofcourse the live performances they did, with the biggest highlight on the X Factor stage. We had some massive names as guest artists this year, but these two put them all to shame!

I could go on and on about this one, but let me just stop now. I think I have made my point

003. Jessie J featuring B.o.B - Price Tag

One of the biggest and most played songs of the year, Jessie J's second single Price Tag.

I first heard an acoustic performance of this song way back in November 2010 and I immediately fell in love with it. Now more than a year later, I still love it as much as then. It has been overplayed, but I still listen to this all the time. It's just a brilliant pop song.
Although I think I like the live versions of this now more than the studio. I miss some of the ad libs now when listening to the studio versions ('Music made us all UNITE, the money, money, money part at the end).
Love the music video aswell. So much fun.

I know quite a lot of people are tired of this now, but for me it's definitely one of THE songs of 2011.

I'd hoped you’d see my face and that you’d be reminded
That for me, it isn’t over

002. Adele - Someone Like You

What would an 2011 countdown be without atleast one Adele song in the top 5?
2011 has been her year, no doubt about that. Smashing every single record out there with her stunning album 21. And she absolutely deserves it all!

Someone Like You is for me the best song on 21 and one of the most memorable songs of the year. And besides that, it's also the best selling single of the year :P
It's just beautiful, absolutely beautiful. You can hear the emotion in her voice, the lyrics are so real and pure and that's just what Adele is all about.
It all started with that performance, I don't even think I need to see anything else. But the iTunes Festival performance was just as good, especially the part when the crowd started to sing to song back to her. Wow!

Just like Price Tag, this has been overplayed but I just can't get tired of it. It's once of those songs you can listen to over and over again.

Wow Jessie J in the top 3. "Price Tag" is definitely one of her finest songs to date, definitely better than her soon-to-be biggest single "Domino".

No magazines or DVD's we both got

001. Olly Murs - Busy

And finally it's time to reveal my number #1, my favourite song of the year! It's Busy by the amazing Olly Murs.
I thought it was a pretty obvious choice, so I was surprised to see only 5 people voted for this in the poll.

This is the song that immediately stood out when I got the album last year and I was delighted when it was finally announced as the fourth single, even though I still think it should have been the third.
This is just the ultimate feel good track, it's so uplifting and so Olly aswell. Surely the lyrics are not everyone's cup of tea, but I personally love them. I've listened to this so much!

Performance wise this was a bit of a hit or miss, let's just not talk about a particular one. But overall this is my ultimate song of the year,

Yay! My prediction turned out to be correct! :D "Busy" is an amazing tune and I'm glad to see it as your #1.

"Someone Like You" is such an emotional ballad. I actually prefer the live performances to the studio recording 'cause you can just hear the passion in Adele's voice when she sings it live.

"Price Tag" is pretty good. I'm not sure if I'd consider it to be worthy of a Top 3 placement but it's got a great message and it's definitely my fave single from Jessie J to date.

All in all, incredible countdown! I'd say we had a lot of the same songs charting in our Top 100 just in completely different order.

unfortunately, I'm not too enthusiastic about anything in your Top 5. "Price Tag" is catchy, and "Someone Like You" is certainly a powerful ballad, but I don't LOVE either of them. :(

alas, it looks as though our tastes are moving in different directions. or maybe this just says something about what the music world offered us in 2011? either way, you can definitely still count on me to follow your 2012 countdown. <3

That's exactly what I was thinking aswell, especially compared to our 2010 chart which was very similar!
But I still liked reading your comments a lot and we still had some songs we both loved (We Found Love, Glad You Came etc. :P )

Thanks to everyone else who has replied and/or read my chart aswell. Hope you all liked it! All the comments are very appreciated.

And now it's time for my top 20 albums of the year!

Great to see Professor Green and Adele charting highly. I had a feeling Olly might be up there - decent song too!

Nice to see you rating that Coldplay album highly. It took me a while to get into it, but it's good.

Adele, Ed Sheeran, Rebecca & Lady GaGa are all good albums too - all of which I own!
