Let's get the countdown started.

100. Adelitas Way (55 points)
Voted By: tdc2000, FreakyFlyBry, Shorty

Image
Breakthrough album: Adelitas Way (2009)
Breakthrough single: "Invincible"
Biggest hit to date: "Sick" (#2 Mainstream 2011)

Hard rockers from Las Vegas that got their break in 2009 when their song "Invincible" was used as the WWE theme song on WGN America. Their debut album was released in 2009 and their biggest rock hits followed from their second album last year, including "Sick" and "The Collapse". They have been busy on tour with several major acts since their break, including Shinedown, GnR, Seether, Puddle of Mudd, and Staind. Certainly, they are one of the up and comers of their genre, though pop success has eluded them so far.

Woo for Adelitas Way :D Didn't expect them to make the top 100, but I really enjoyed "Last Stand" (my #1 of 2010) and "Alive" so good to see them there :D

Birdy is absolutely fantastic - she'd probably get even more votes from me now than she did when I voted - an absolutely fantastic singer.

Got a lot of love for Birdy, an incredible amount of potential and the most beautiful tone and talent at such a young age!

I struggled to make a top 35, I threw Birdy a few points (My #33) her version of Skinny Love is good although not great and I've not heard anything else from her ~ but she has a lot of potential. :D

Didn't make my list - was 41. The fact most of her songs are covers was a negative for me. Promising singer, though.

Two more entries today

98. The Joy Formidable (59 points)
Voted By: tdc2000, NothingFails, Blondini

Image
Breakthrough album: The Big Roar (2011)
Breakthrough song: "My Beerdrunk Soul Is Sadder Than A Hundred Dead Christmas Trees" (2008)
Biggest Hit: "Whirring" (#7 US Alt 2011)

The Joy Formidable are a Welsh indie band formed in 2007 from the remnants of a Manchester band Tricky Nixon (which became Sidecar Kisses). Their first few singles were experiments in which they worked out their sound and released an EP in 2009 called "A Balloon Called Moaning". Their more wide break came just last year with the hit "Whirring", which did well on US rock radio and generated some buzz around the band. They also have a song "Endgames" on the new Twilight soundtrack, which may be an even bigger boost for their career.

This one may generate some conversation...

97. Shardinay (61 points)
Voted By: sbk, Star, fearlessswift13

Image
Breakthrough: "Oh Boy" (2011)

Believe it or not, Shardinay does not have a Wiki page and little is posted about her on the WWW. She has been a running joke on the site the past few months, and had the "hit" video "Oh Boy" last year, a sort of R&B version of Rebecca Black. I don't know much more, so I leave it to her voters to explain why she is an "emerging" artist.

LOL guess why I voted for Adelitas Way? :D

But yeah, they're cool. "Invincible" is a kick ass song and I like "It's A New Day" as well, that was a WWE entrance theme too :D
One for the money, two for the show, I love you honey, I'm ready ready to go...
