7 NEW Chromatics - Tick Of The Clock AUDIO (not suitable for epilepsy sufferers)/ Alternative AUDIO
Image
Another highlight from the Drive soundtrack that is being used in an HTC advert in UK. The single version has just been released to coincide. Now when is Under Your Spell going to be picked up by an advert??

Lots of nice tunes here.
Haven't heard every song, but from what i'm familiar with i like:
6 7 Florence and The Machine - Never Let Me Go
31 30 Lana Del Rey - Blue Jeans
32 23 Fun. - We Are Young
34 NEW 2:54 - You're Early
52 41 Killing Joke - In Cythera
53 51 Regina Spektor - All The Rowboats

As for
21 RE Ladyhawke - Sunday Drive
Maybe not such a bad song as you defined, but i'm a little bit disapponted too. "Black White & Blue" was a great song, but the follow up doesn't quite fit Ladyhawke's high standard, i suppose.
I'm looking for "TOP POPS/MUSIC NOW" and "MERSEYBEAT / MUSIC ECHO" Charts to complete my 60's singles charts collection.

Why aren't you charting Carly Rae Jepsen? I thought she'd be well up your street.

Having little replies is a good sign in my opinion, means your taste is too expansive for many to handle.

I see that this just missed the top ten in the UK - it's a little baffling that no physical singles apparently accompanied the download option (for me, not an option). Seven-inch vinyl and CD singles of previous releases have helped them to similar top twenty peaks in the past - this time, they might have made all the difference between a number 11 and number 10 entry.....

The CD was an HMV exclusive - though orders took several days to reach customers. It DID make A difference - it only peaked at 12 on iTunes and was #9 in first mids because of pre-ordered singles.

Ah! I never knew about that. Oddly enough, I was in the nearest HMV today.....and, after searching around a little, I consulted a member of staff - who indicated that they no longer stocked CD singles in the store. :x

I've just ordered one through the HMV website - it's saying "usually dispatched in 3 to 6 days", so I hope that doesn't translate as "sold out / there's no way we're ever going to let you have this item at that price".....

Still no seven-inch single that I can see anywhere this time, unfortunately!

A certain group were #1 in my "midweeks" until two new songs blasted it out of the water!

Image
1 NEW Blondie - Restless AUDIO
:o This was posted on http://www.deborahharry.com/restless.shtml in January and is an album outtake of a song by departed guitarist Paul Carbonara. Paul supplied artwork and the song was available free (sadly, the host Megaupload was shut down shortly afterwards but the YouTube link is there forever). It's gorgeous and puts the album to shame. :o

2 NEW Deap Vally - End Of The World AUDIO
Image
:o Two women, sounds like an army! Karen O fronting The White Stripes is a rough approximation - incendiary riff!! Lindsay (singer/ guitarist) and Julie (drummer) are from California.

sorry, girls...

The CD was an HMV exclusive

My local Middlesbrough branch had four shelf slots situated next to compilation albums. Now it's condensed to 2 - but with an old Christina single the only one stocked! Really sad to see. But it's still good to see they CAN make a difference - Plan B's Ill Manors and Alex Day's Lady Godiva were both several places higher thanks to CD sales. One Direction also benefited.
I Love You, Richard Parker!
