122 ¬ Wynter Gordon ¬ 222 POINTS

Kitten Heels, Lingerie,
Pantyhose, Foreplay,
Legs up, on the bar,
In the back of your car,
Latex, champagne,
Bubble bath, whipped cream,
Cherry pop tag team,
Can you make me scream

I wanna do some dirty things to you tonight,
I wanna fight, all through the night, night, night

Wynter Gordon (born Diana Gordon; August 25, 1985) is an American singer and songwriter. Wynter was born in New York and was brought up in a poverty stricken neighborhood in Queens. As the middle child of seven living in a two bedroom house with an abusive and largely absent father, her childhood was difficult. Wynter discovered her talent for singing and dance at an early age. As a teenager, she was accepted to the famous LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts. There, she was nurtured in a welcoming and nonjudgmental environment. Wynter has been writing music since an early age. She wrote first song, “Daddys Song” at the age of 12. The track remains personal to Wynter and brought executives at Atlantic Records to tears during her showcase. After high school, Wynter threw herself fully into realizing her music dreams, while also dealing with surviving on her own for the first time. She juggled several jobs while working in the studio at nights and as much as she could. During this time, Wynter met her manager, Keith White who introduced her to Don Pooh at Atlantic Records. Wynter worked closely with producer D’Mile since 2004 where they both came with her first track to fame, “Gonna Breakthrough” written by Wynter Gordon and produced by D’Mile was used as the title track to Mary J. Blige’s 2005 album The Breakthrough. Soon after, Wynter was given an opportunity and signed to Atlantic Records, through Don Pooh Music Group, where she has been working on her debut album since 2004.

121 ¬ Sarah Connor ¬ 222 POINTS

For so many years we were friends
And yes I always knew what we could do
But so many tears in the rain
Felt the night you said
That love had come to you
I thought you were not my kind
I thought that I could never feel for you
The passion and love you were feeling
And so you left
For someone new
And now that you're far and away
I'm sending a letter today

Sarah Terenzi, better known as Sarah Connor (born June 13, 1980) is a German pop music singer who has enjoyed a great deal of success in the European pop charts since the early 2000s. Sarah was married to former boy band star Marc Terenzi and has a son named Tyler. On June 23rd daughter Summer Antonia Soraya was born. Rapper TQ produced Sarah’s first single “Let’s Get Back To Bed - Boy” which went to the top 5 in Germany and Austria, top 10 in Switzerland and top 20 in the UK in spring/summer 2001, followed up by the Blackstreet sampling single “French Kissing”. The third track, “From Sarah With Love”, even overtopped the success of the previous singles and went straight to the charts’ top in Germany, Switzerland and several other European countries, eventually selling over 750,000 copies. Afterwards Sarah released her debut album, Green Eyed Soul, which sold 450,000 records domestically and peaked at #2 in Germany, also reaching the top 10 in Finland, Greece, Poland, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Portugal. In the meantime Connor won a Comet and an ECHO for “Female National Rock/Pop Artist”. Connor’s sophomore album Unbelievable was released in 2002 in Europe. Wyclef Jean wrote, produced and rapped on the CD’s first single, “One Nite Stand (Of Wolves And Sheep)”, which once again entered the top 5. Unbelievable simultaneously became another smash, achieving gold status in Germany within 48 hours. With the Diane Warren written ballad “Skin On Skin”, “It’s Unbelievable” and “Bounce” the album spawned further three singles.

Avril Lavigne is the queen of teen rock music! At one point, she was arguably one of the biggest stars in the world, with a 12m+ selling album, the first ever music video to cross 100m views on YouTube and the adulation of millions of teenage boys and girls worldwide. Avril also deserves credit for changing up her direction artistically over the years - the Avril that you hear nowadays is not the Avril you heard in the early 00's, at least not musically. Whilst her international record sales have dwindled to an embarrassing low, her chart performance in Japan continues to impress with her the second highest-selling international female artist of the last three years, behind only Lady Gaga.

Avril featured inside of 13 top 10's, and was ranked highest by Lemo & theArmy [both ranked her as their #3 artist] - with 41 voters, Avril commands an almighty points score of just under 33. So damn impressive!

Avril Lavigne was born in Canada on September 27th, 1984. She spent the majority of her life growing up in the small town of Napanee, Ontario, Canada. Her music is a mix of rock, teen pop and pop-punk. Avril started off singing country songs for amateur producers in her home town. At the age of 14 (1998), Avril won the chance to sing with award winning singer, Shania Twain, in front of 20,000 people. Shortly after Avril realised she wanted to follow her passion for music, and dropped out of school to move to New York. There she sang for L.A. Reid once word got around that a small town girl from Canada had moved to the city in search of a music career. Once Avril demonstrated her then raw musical skills and vocals, she was instantly signed. Avril was then put into the studio to start recording a country record, in which she was given songs to sing. Avril protested and requested that her contract be extended to include that she at least co-write all songs on her records. She was granted her wish. She then moved to L.A. to record a record she had planned, a record inspired by her idols Alanis Morissette and band Green Day. She first worked with Cliff Magness where they both bonded on the opinion that the music industry was a corrupt place only for packaged pop artists. In protest they both came together and wrote the song ‘Unwanted’. Once RCA heard this song they requested a softer sound, and a compromise was made in the shape of the Matrix.

Why didn't I vote for Avril? :-? Avril's got some really nice Pop/Rock tracks but I'm not the biggest fan of hers.

I hated Avril at first but then came I'm with You which made me a devoted mega fan. Her Under my Skin album was a huge hit on my personal chart and dominated the year 2004 along with So Called Chaos. Her latest album Goodbye Lullaby was a true return to her early sound.

Sarah Connor: well, she has a handful of beautiful ballads/covers but the majority of her work is dull shit.

Avril was my #10.

With Fever, Kylie Minogue was arguably on the cusp of worldwide greatness, or at least its the closest she ever came to becoming a worldwide megastar - it was a million seller stateside, and gave Kylie her biggest hit. Prior to 2000 & Fever, Kylie wasn't that highly regarded in the US, beyond the minor genre charts; but in Europe and in particular the UK, Kylie had been one of the biggest female artists for over a decade, charting over 15 top 10 singles, and selling over 5m albums. With Fever, she propelled herself into an adopted UK legend, a voice of the people and a status similar to that of John Farnham's in Australia - despite not being from the country in question, she was treated as a British ICON. Today, Kylie has sold close to 18m records in the UK, and is widely regarded as the Princess of Pop.

Kylie was ranked inside of 9 top 10's, and was ranked highest by JluGlow! Kylie was voted for by a whopping 52 voters - nearly half of everybody that voted gave Kylie some points! It does however reduce significantly her average points score; despite scoring only 2 points more than Avril Lavigne, she was voted for by a massive 11 people more! Her average points score therefore stands at a not so impressive 26.

Kylie Minogue (born May 28, 1968, in Melbourne, Australia) is an Australian pop singer who rose to fame after starring in the Australian TV soap Neighbours. Whilst her cover of The Loco-Motion in 1987 reached the Australian #1 spot, it was the Stock Aitken Waterman ‘hit factory’ which produced her first UK chart-topper, I Should Be So Lucky, in 1988. Throughout the late 1980s, Minogue was a phenomenon in both Australia and the UK, and also saw success in Asia and Europe. Minogue went on to have the most number of consecutive UK top ten hits of any new artist. However, she left Stock Aitken Waterman and PWL Studios in 1992 and signed with Deconstruction (through BMG). Despite receiving critical acclaim and working with notable artists like the Manic Street Preachers and Nick Cave, commercial success was not forthcoming. Parting ways with Deconstruction, she spent a short time in the musical wilderness before pulling on a pair of gold hotpants and returning to her pop roots with the #1 hit Spinning Around. Minogue’s biggest hit to date is Can’t Get You Out of My Head, from the globally successful album Fever. It reached #1 in 40 countries and has sold over ten million copies worldwide. She has become one of the most successful female recording artists in the world with #1 hits spanning three decades, and is considered a national treasure in both the UK and her native Australia.

I cannot believe Kylie is only #21! I didn't vote for her and I'm not even a fan, but I thought she'd be higher (#10 if we're going by my predictions). Actually, I now really wish I'd waited until the top 20 to make my predictions (can I edit my votes?)

I like a few Kylie songs;
1. Confide in Me
2. Love at First Sight
3. On a Night Like This
4. Chocolate
5. Spinning Around

That's about it.

I think Kylie has an incredible back catalog! So much substance. My favourite album is X, I'm not totally sure what my favourite song is.

I used to love playing On A Night Like This, and fusing it into JLo's Waiting For Tonight at the bar.
