And I'm actually surpised to see that jpguy likes Mariah as much as he does. I always thought he hated her!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
not at all!! I adore Mariah Carey... like I wrote, her personality is so-so for me, sometimes I even hate her on interviews and stuff hahahaha... sometimes... but it doesn't matter... I adore her music, and her songs... she's just MiMi for me... how am I going to hate her if "TEOM" is probably one of my favuorite albums ever, and so far... the best RnB album of all time.... her talent is undeniable... I like her career back then and now too :P !
You have no idea how many times I've imitated her fake vocal acrobacies, and listened to "WBT" on my days off!!! Good old memories, every artist brings back so many memories for me... I might not like them because of her personality or behaviour, but most of them (except GaGa and P!nk) bring back great memories to me :P !! Mariah is deffo top 10 for me :)

No it doesn't, but it will as I want to do the next one :)

And its December 2013, ready to run in 2014 - there will be no 2012/2013 countdown.

I'd love a countdown next year but the top end of the chart will just have the same artists, so what's the point!?

I agree. Hence it definitely not needing to be an annual countdown.

It's an extremely high position for a person who's the one of the worst trend-setters in the music history. Her guilt is all that we can see now in the contemporary music - shallow voiceless so-called divas in the tacky outfits lip-syncing manufactured trash-dance-pop.
She deserves to be executed :D
For someone who put Adele at #1 with only 2 albums out, your post is just stupid :D
Of course not. 2 albums could cement an artist credebility and be enough to leave a legacy. Check Amy Winehouse or Lauryn Hill. Adele is a great singer, very talented...

A lot can happen in music in 2 years. It's probably a good idea we don't have a countdown every year

Regardless of how much happens, most peoples tastes do not change significantly over such a short period of time. I'd say 10 years, I'd die if the top 20 was pretty much the same!

With all of this being said, I'm not doing the countdown again until 2013 :)

I'll possibly open the voting a bit earlier than December; but the countdown itself will run again from 2014 new year :)

so what s the idea ? Adele has already left legacy with 2 albums ?! if Lauryn Hill or Amy Winehouse was 3, i m sure people would say they are too high !!! many were shocked with Alicia, Pink, Rihanna and the others...haven t these acts already left "legacy" as well ?!!! though if it 's "normal" that Adele is 3, then why not Britney at #8, Alicia at 6 and Rihanna atc... ?! b/c you don t like her music, are you too "brainy" for her teen "crap" music ? and i m not saying that Adele ain t talented, 21 is a great album and so is 19 IMO but talking about an artist like he did with Britney is just stupid, plus the talent stuff is completly subjective, my point is that it s ridiculous to come up with arrogant words like those even though the one that you stan for ain t bigger either. If you don t like her music, fine but no need to say that Britney deserves to be executed.

ps : i didn t vote for Britney, nor for Adele but somtimes some posts deserve to be pointed out.

This is about your "favourite" female act ever.
So who "deserves" this and that...doesn't count. If he feels ADELE is her fav, what's wrong with putting her at #1? It's his choice.

please don t only read between the lines ! ofc he s free of his choice, but does he need to say that Britney deserves to be executed ? it s against the rules if i m not mistaken and many members were warned/banned for less important things.

That would deserve a warning or ban IF only Britney had an account here!

The better one won! :D
Beyonce's great and very talented. B'Day was a perfect album and I Am... was close. 4 was kinda dull but had some okay tunes.
MMy favorite singles: Baby Boy and Deja Vu (both Pop/R&B perfection)

Mariah is meh. Never liked her, probably never will. Without You is awesome though.

Thanks for running this Wayne, you were a great host and loved the presentation! :D :D

I think you are not the one who can guess what is stupid and what is not.
Basically, the whole vote is 'UKMix favourite female acts', not 'Best female act ever'. So for 2011 Adele is definitely my favorite female act with a huge margin over the others.
Moreover Adele's two albums are MUCH bigger FOR ME than all katyperry's, brithey's, rihanna's, beyonce's discographies together :D
So in the future, think before writing. Sometimes it helps.

If we did this in 1997, I bet the Spice Girls would have been top 5, maybe even #1.

It's not about how popular one singer is, it's about how big his fan base is here, on UKmix, so we don't know :P
