"L-U-V Madonna! Y-O-U, You Wanna!" The line that kept replaying in my head over the past week... and therefore that gives Madonna her first ever #1 song on my chart! It therefore dethrones Kelly Clarkson from the top after only 1 week there. Sandwiched between the two is Katy Perry's new single, "Part Of Me". The song screams hit all over and it is on course to become my favourite Katy Perry song ever. Mariah Carey has many songs in the entire top 30 this week and the highest placing for her is "Can't Take That Away" at #6. All of Lana Del Rey's songs dropped in positions this week except "Dark Paradise". Can this be a sign that I'm getting bored of her already? Lady Gaga puts "Judas" in the top 10 after I got hooked onto it again this week. Many old classics re-enter this week, such as "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)", "Hero" and "Halo". Lisa Miskovsky becomes the first Scottish artist to place a song in this chart.

R.I.P. Whitney Houston! One of the best voices that ever graced the Earth. She's been on repeat the whole of last week, and she puts 18 songs in the top 30. However, she just fails to reach the #1 spot as Katy Perry's "Part Of Me" experiences a massive play-rise immediately after the Grammy awards. It gives Perry her fourth number-one hit on my chart - after "E.T.", "Firework" and "The One That Got Away". Whitney places 5 songs in the top 10, with "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)" her highest entry at #2. Last week's #1 drops to #5 as three Whitney songs chart above it. 18 new entries by Whitney this week denotes that 18 songs have to drop out, which is by far the most ever since the start of this year. Lana Del Rey has all her songs drop out except "National Anthem" and "Radio" which face significant decreases. One Direction spends 6 consecutive weeks in the top 10 with "What Makes You Beautiful" and it is expected to rise next week (if Whitney's songs drop, that is). Whitney's 5 entries in the top 10 pushes Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger" out of the top 10 at #12. Next week, Whitney's prospects of securing the #1 with "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)" is quite high - but will "Part Of Me" stop it from doing so, and spend a second week at #1?

After their remarkable BRIT award win for "What Makes You Beautiful", One Direction makes a 8 spot climb to #1 this week, their fourth week there. Katy Perry is dethroned from the #1 spot after spending one week at number-one. Katy's new single proves to have some sort of longevity so expect it to stay in the Top 5 next week. Madonna's new single "Give Me All Your Luvin'" falls out of the top 10 just after two weeks in it. Adele's "Rolling In The Deep" re-enters at #3 mainly because of the "Rolling In The Deep"/"Judas (Instrumental)" medley I was addicted to the past week. The BRIT wins did have an effect on er chart position, however. Many re-entries from Lady Gaga this week as it's been a relatively quiet week in terms of new releases - giving Nicki Minaj the highest "new" debut at #30. The impact of Whitney Houston's death is still huge and I still can't forget she has left us. It's been another Whitney Houston week as she places about 10 songs in the top 30. Next week, "What Makes You Beautiful", "Part Of Me" and "I Stay In Love" are most probably the songs competing for #1 - who will make it? 8-)

Nicki Minaj jumps from #30 to #1 in its second charting week, and it has broken the record for most plays per week since the start of 2012 - 103 plays. It is also by far the most weekly plays since Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" racked up 109 plays. Many new and re-entries this week, especially from Rihanna and Kelly Clarkson as I've been spinning their previous albums. The Wanted manages a #2 debut with "Glad You Came" - it is by far my favourite song by a boy band since One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful". It's starting to become a hit in the US and deservingly so. Many Whitney Houston songs drop out this week while the remaining others face massive drops. Rihanna places a top 5 entry with "Umbrella", one of her best songs to date. Beyoncé manages a top 10 re-entry with her best lead-single to date, "Run The World (Girls)". Next week, expect the chart to be almost the same as no new release has caught my attention as of yet. Will Minaj continue to top for a second week, or will Wanted dethrone her?
