Attention, long post in the way!

Kylie Minogue - Body Language

Image

Well, I'm not exactly 'forcing' you to listen to this album but knowing your usual taste, it would be really interesting to hear your opinion about it. :) 'Body Language' from Kylie Minogue is my ultimate favourite album (so far). I love it not only for the fact that it's the first album I've bought from my own money but of course because of the material that's on the CD as well. 'Body Language' is an outstanding album imo which shows quite a different side of Kylie. It's not the usual bubblegum-pop album you would expect from her - it's more of an r'n'b flavoured funfest with some very sensual (and also some really enjoyable feel-good) songs. It includes my all-time favourite song 'Chocolate' as well. I'd be grateful if you took the time to listen to this album, which, for me, is like a part of me. :D I'm not necessarily expecting a 10/10 review, but as I've previously said, it would be interesting to see what you think of Miss Minogue's work from 2003 (which is actually her most underrated album after 'Impossible Princess' among fans). No problem if you reject it, though lol

Aww Thomy I read all of that! I am looking forward to hearing it! Oh and on 10/10 reviews I am really hard to please  so don't be too disappointed if your faves get a 5 or 6 that means it's atleast good! :P Another thing ~ I'll give the album a good listen over a period of 2-3 days and try and post something.

Would you be open to some Japanese music? Cos if you are, I have looooooooads of suggestions!

But to start, here's two random ones:

MAA - Bubbleman Engine
Anna Tsuchiya - Nudy Show!

MAA's album is some kind of random electronic/rocky/weird mashup  She has some very odd lyrics, and some odd music. But if you have an open mind, you might like it!

And Anna Tsuchiya's album is quite rocky, peppered with some gorgeous ballads like Serenade.
One for the money, two for the show, I love you honey, I'm ready ready to go...

Oh, cool :D Heart Station is awesome!

Then you might like Utada's first English album, Exodus. It's quite similar to Heart Station.

I think so as most of the album is in the veins of RBW. :)

Oh and I couldn't dare to post it originally (thought I'd be too much lol), but if you haven't already heard it I think you would like the album 'Feel It Break' by Austra (they're like Ladyhawke mixed with Florence). But it's more of a mention from me than a proper suggestion. :P This is all for me now in this topic for a few days I promise.

These are my top 3 favorite albums:

#1 Madonna - like a prayer (1989)
#2 pink - I'm not dead (2006)
#3 Christina aguilera - stripped (2003)

As a roman-catholic raised by a conservative family, like a prayer is a "set free" album for me. It talks about freedom, self respect, divorce, loss of someone you love, feeling real about love, and my ultimate favorite song "oh father" talks about a hard relationship with one of your parents. I felt connect to that as I also ran away from one to be free and independent and most of all, happy.

I'm not dead... Well everyone knows songs like Who Knew, Nobody Knows and Long Way to Happy. Sometimes parents want to build us into someone they wished for they forget about how we feel and our real ambitions, we become puppets in their hands and
we slowly die inside. I'm not dead is a liberation of that "I'm not dead, just changing".
The song "Runaway" was the song I listened to when I tool the cab to the airport and left my home country. "all the freedom and fame I gotta find." it's a personal album to me
and "Conversations with my 13 year old self" always makes me cry. I feel every word.

Stripped! Xtina is not my favorite singer but this album is the ultimate anti depressant every one needs. Forget about pills and weed. Listen to stripped, and you'll feel good
about yourself again. Everyone knows Fighter, Beautiful and The Voice Within. Cruz us
still my favorite: once again it talks about running away.

I like albums with a moral value. With a lesson. A music album is a piece of art. It should give a message and chance minds. It should be an interpretation of a way of life, and then people would realize about it. And as music is a universal language of freedom of speech, these turned out to be my favorite albums of all time
If you can't handle me at my Amanda Bynes, you don't deserve me at my Beyoncé.

Okay, I have two. One is a modern CD that I think is fantastic. Its really interesting and haunting while the other is, in my opinion, a classic album from a classic band. Its moody, soaring and fun.

Zola Jesus: Conatus

Image

Its a really great album. Very dark. It mixes post-punk with some electronic beats. Her vocals are great. Very reminiscent of Siouxsie Sioux.

The Damned: Phantasmagoria

Image

I think this is a really underrated gem both in the punk rock AND goth rock scene. Its brilliant. This is when The Damned kinda drifted away from punk and dove into goth rock. It has some very cheesy moments but I think it works. Theres some fantastic tunes on it. I got it on vinyl :)

One of my favourite albums of all-time:

Image

Mariah Carey - Butterfly

Arguably Mariah's best album to-date. It is also Mariah's most personal and most emotional album to date.

The album includes some of Mariah's best ever songs such as "The Roof (Back In Time)" and "Breakdown", as well as my favourite song of hers, "Butterfly". Besides the singles, it contains other gems like "Close My Eyes".

The singles from the album include "Honey", "The Roof", "Butterfly", "My All" and "Breakdown". The video for "The Roof" is also one of Mariah's best videos to-date.
"To love another person is to see the face of God." - Les Misérables
