Hey, Fleetwood Mac is very much new to me, it's nice. Will listen some more. The next album is from a fantastic band, only know the singles so far. And I totally agree with Kevin.
How r u doing? I am alright.

Wow you shouldn't really hype that album too much, it might backfire! :P Yes I have a couple from Depeche Mode to listen to. :D

You are right, I thought about that as well, but I could not constrain myself. O.k. to make up for it: don't expect too much from Antony, he is boring as hell does not impress me at all and I did not buy all his albums and did not listen many times.

hopefully the Depeche album will be an easier devourment than double-albums by Fleetwood and Prince. I didn't realize until afterwards that both those albums were so long

Rumours is an all time classic, the only reason I'd suggest otherwise is because it is pretty much a self-Greatest Hits album and it's such a big album that belongs to the world. Thriller/Bad are probably the only albums I can think of with such a high ratio of popular radio hits. Even though there were only four singles, songs like The Chain, Oh Daddy, Gold Dust Woman (Hole had a hit with a remake of this too), Never Going Back Again and Second Hand News are all staples on classic rock stations. Really, all of their classic period (1975-1987) albums are great though Mirage is probably the least memorable one because that album was them doing a safer pop album to return them to the top after Tusk knocked them down a little bit, plus Stevie Nicks was just coming off Bella Donna and she admittedly wanted to tour longer for her solo debut instead of doing another Mac project where she's back to being a supporting role, though "Gypsy" became one of her greatest songs.

Next review coming up in a day or two, I've decided to just make short reviews, short and sweet. I've written 4 reviews on Amazon tonight and it felt good just to write a few lines to sum up my thoughts. 8-)

The Critic ~ Album #13: Depeche Mode - Black Celebration
Image

Rating 7.6/10

I really enjoyed the albums consistently dark and sombre electro-pop and rock sound, could be brisk and emotional at times as well. The occasional interesting vocal distortion and abstract sound thrown about within the albums pop structure make this a fun and satisfying listen.

Short, but consistent review - just as expected! :D I think it perfectly describes Depeche Mode way of creating music.

So it's your 3rd favourite album so far!

P.S.: Could you pick 2 or 3 highlights/favourites after yours texts, please? That'd be great for new listeners.

I just picked this one up on vinyl a few days ago. Even though Violator has all the hits, Black Celebration is probably their "coolest" album.

Highlights for me, in descending order

1 A Question Of Lust (ballad)
2 A Question Of Time (up-tempo)
3 It Doesn't Matter Two (reminds me of Philip Glass)
4 Stripped (the lead single)
5 Here Is The House

and these are real highlights, as the rest is quite underwhelming IMO. You ranked it quite right, crazycrazy. Maybe just a tiny tiny bit too high.

Actually Chun is correct, I don't always have the time to update regularly, as long as the albums you review are not already on my list you can start your own review thread up. It's not like you need permission off me anyway babe, I'm not the review master or anything! :D I'd be interested to ave you opinion on albums as well as I know you are so open minded and I love that so much!! :D
