I'm not saying you're wrong (albeit not really agreeing with you on that) but Madonna's songs will unlikely go on constant airplay ever again. They might be sent to radios regularly on release each time with big publicity but it's up to programmers and listeners and they'll always prioritise young artists over Madonna especially with such a non-radio friendly track like "I'm Addicted". I mean, come on!

While i agree with the statement that M songs are unlikely to have constant airplay ever again, there would still be exceptions. this era has been screwed up with countless blunders courtesy of Guy O and Interscope so why not milk the era with all the dark singles. I'm Addicted is undoubtedly more radio-friendly than the popular Gang Bang. so if given the choice, a double A-side I'm Addicted/Gang Bang would be great to end this era; with I'm Addicted doing airplay and Gang Bang slaying video-wise. :wink:

Yes , it definitely does!
It just doesn´t count towards Soundscan numbers if the album is sold for less than $3.99 in its first three weeks os availability.
I´m not 100% sure if the right price is 3.99 or 2.99 though .
Just recently Katy Perry´s "Teenage Dream - The Complete Confection " had a huge jump back to #2 after a similar deal with Amazon.
Several other albums have also benefited from these Amazon $0.99 deals as well .

The new rule is for albums priced at 3.49 USD$, and it's for the first 4 weeks not 3.

There were more rules applied back then for other formats , here's more on that (Billboard Biz, Nov '11):

If it's unrealeased, probably it wasn't good enough for being an official track of the album. Probably not even good as a bonus track. If the official ones are flopping in most of the countries, I can imagine the success of this "new" one.
I think she should start exploiting the real potential of the album, that contains 16 songs and they have just 20 weeks.

Actually we have a lot of unreleased Madonna's tracks that are miles better than the published ones...

I´d like to hear some of the MDNA´s leftovers...
I quite often have this feeling that Madonna´s unreleased tracks are better than some of those to make the final tracklist of her albums (Animal, Revenge, Superpop ,Broken, Liquid Love , and so many others ... )

For sure songs like Revenge are better than a lot of final tracklists, but I don't see them being a megahit. And songs like Superpop for me are very childish ("if you want to reach the top, reach the top") and they don't become the queen of pop. Just my opinion.

Unreleased material does NOT mean it's not good enough for an album. It could just mean it didn't fit the albums sound as a whole, or a theme of the album. Not every unreleased song is unreleased solely because it's not good enough.
