Does nobody care anymore after last year's terrible season?

The audition shows started last night and continue tonight. I might watch in the hope it's a better year if I get time.

I really liked the first auditioner last night. He was good. But so far there aren't any incredible talents. I'm still excited, though.

Phong Vu was the highlight for me.

I do still have faith in these judges and the show. I do feel that they need to be more realistic. They shot themselves in the foot by calling almost all artists amazing, brilliant etc and deluding the audience into thinking the same (obviously not everyone).

I am still bitter about Pia leaving etc so we'll see.

I saw that Emily from The Glee Project auditioned and got to Hollywood round, she really has a good voice.

Don't see the point of having this straight after US X Factor. It's too much. Saw Jim Carrey's daughter on YouTube, was OK. Will check the final, but that's it.

I think this is the first season of American Idol where I actually don't care to watch the preliminaries anymore. Strange...

It's not the strongest season talent-wise - Probably because there's also The Voice & X Factor. Though i'm liking it!

Interested to see the group performances, because you never really know what they will bring... :wink:

The group round is also bringing a good bit of drama like always!

Though what is going on with all those falls from the stage and breaksdowns on stage?!

Have you noticed though they show less and less of the talent. I mean Hollywood week was awful, the whole show was about drama and next to no singing.

I am actually watching it but can hardly comment at this stage ... I need to hear them properly sing before I can express any opinion ...

@ Thriller - this week they announced the Top 12 males and females and next week live shows / public voting starts.

I haven't seen the men perform yet. I'm rooting for Colton Dixon. For the ladies, I was shocked that Jessica Sanchez did extremely well, I think she is the strongest Filipina contender (since Jasmine Trias) to emerge on Idol.

Actually this is the same person.

Great, I rooted for her back then. She really evolved. I remember she got a page on Wiki which was deleted later. Then she got a lot of local concerts to screaming girls covering everything. She's been on Youtube for years.

Now she's on Idol. Well everything is possible when you are persistent. 8-)

I'm on board this season. 8-)

Great, she's phenomenal. I haven't been this excited about a contestant for ages!
