So glad they didn'yt save her. It's been great for once in AI history the two people I wanted to go first have. I am sooo glad that white man who thought he was a black woman (gay dad) didn't get on the show.

As of late, I'm being attached to the contestants because of their personalities and not because of their performances.

Shannon was the weakest girl, it was really her time to go, she was also picking the wrong song choices for 2 weeks now.

Heejun is really lucky to have lasted this long. He has a great tone but I don't think he is really going to show more, I don't think he has a lot to offer.

Jessica is great but I didn't enjoy her performance that much. That Gloria Estefan song is really oozing with sensuality and energy and I think she should work on that part of her performance because vocally she can easily deliver.

I don't really see a problem with Colton and Philip. I enjoy their performances, but the thing is, their genre (and artistry) is not really about the "competitor type of artist" unlike let's say in the R&B/pop/country singers where they pretty much compete and showcase vocal techniques and variations in song structures and those other technicalities, and they're still so young so I guess they can still improve through time. Then again, this is still a competition and it's a matter of lasting and showing different sides of themselves so we'll see.

If there was one who got all the song choices right, it would be Hollie. She picks the right songs that compliment her range, even though she isn't really the most amazing in the "vocal acrobatics" aspect, she is very consistent in picking the songs that will make her shine.

Joshua is an amazing performer too. The only problem with him for me is that he is praised for his vocal abilities but he doesn't really make me like the songs he performs. It's like for me, the impact lasts only on stage, and then I forget about him after the performance.

Deandre is the most conscious one in performing. He doesn't really let go of himself unlike in the early stages where he easily stood out. Right now, you can really tell from his expressions even while performing that he is very concerned with the feedback of the judges.

Skylar is good too, and she would stay longer here, it's obvious she has tons of support, but I'm not much into her performances. Elise is also good but I don't like her performances that much as well.

It was so wrong to see Elise in the bottom 3 considering she delivered one of the best performances! :o :-? And i can't believe Heejun hasn't even been in the bottom 3 the past 2 weeks! I think he has impressed before the live shows, but he has clearly been one of the weakest the past 2 weeks to me. Asian folks in America must really want him to go far in this competetion, so they give him lots of votes! :o

Not really! I'm Asian but I would not have voted for him during the past two weeks. I think it's his personality and humor that's behind the huge fan support he's currently getting. Here in Asia, there are many male singers just like him. :)

Yeah it's actually going quite well so far! I was convinced Erika would go after she ended up in the bottom two, nice surprise. She really needs her best performance next week though otherwise I think she's a goner.

I agree. I am worried about Erika though. Remember her first audition when she did that lower run and Randy went crazy...where has that girl gone? Now it's all 'you're a rock singer' etc. She could really do well with an amazing stripped sould/rnb song. Her tone is so rich she doesn't need to shout.

Elise is just one note for me, nice tone but sooo annoying when she belts.

I wanted Shannon to win.

So now she's gone I'm rooting for Colton! I love Skylar too.

I think Shannon went home, because she ones again took on a song that's too hard for her to really impress the voters. I really liked her before the live shows, but I Have Nothing & One Sweet Day are just too hard to take on for most, and they didn't make her shine.... Though i think her One Sweet Day performance was pretty nice

I am also sick of 'country' acts getting easy passes because that's their niche. That Skylar's song was horrible. Her performance was okay but why do these 'feisty' country songs all sound the same?

Agreed. She reminds me soooo much of Lauren from last season, ie boring. And she's got this cutesy thing going on that annoys the shit out of me :-?

I predicted Shannon would go before the results were announced and I was right. I thought Heejun would be in the bottom 3, surprised he wasn't cos his performance wasn't good. Elise shouldn't have been in the bottom 3!

My favourites are Joshua, Jessica (although I didn't like her performance so much, she has an amazing voice for sure), Colton (he looks so much like this wrestler it's freaking me out ) and Hollie (she's so cute and she has some pipes on her). Philip is growing on me too.

I hope this season if the judges use their save, they don't waste it like they did with Casey last season and they use it on somebody like Jessica or Joshua if America has a brain fart and eliminates them.

1. Elise
Easily the highlight this week, her vocal tone and style is so smooth, it was as if the song was made for her - brilliant.

2. Jessica
Didn't know the song but she really sold it, she's a natural star with a fantastic voice.

3. Colton
Far away his best performance, loved the breaks in his voice - it just seemed a lot more authentic and original.

4. Erika
Loved the new hair she reminded me of Kelly Clarkson this week, more confident and her voice sounded gorgeous.

5. Joshua
Another soaring vocal and his range is awesome but it didn't seem as hot as last week.

6. Phillip
He is getting better for me, this was pretty decent but he's just so awkward as a person!

7. Hollie
A disappointment after last week, she looked amazing like a mini-Christina but she sounded very nervous.

8. Deandre
I'm getting a bit bored of him, it was more up his street and he can obviously sing but it was just OK.

9. Skylar
Didn't like this too much, she can belt well at times but it was really unexciting.

10. Heejun
A mess, is he turning into the new Sanjaya? Still better than last week though!

Really annoying that Heejun got more votes than Erika! The image change obviously didn't work and she was forgotten by the end of the show.

OVERALL:

1 (1) Jessica
2 (2) Joshua
3 (3) Hollie
4 (6) Elise
5 (4) Skylar
6 (7) Deandre
7 (9) Colton
8 (8) Phillip
9 (10) Heejun

OUT: (5) Erika

Erika has not really been a favorite of mine, but she did a good job this week, and she was not the one, who deserved to go home. Heejun should have gone home! Elise & Jessica had the moments this week to me, and thank god Elise finally wasn't in the bottom 3! :o :)

I only saw half the performances this week, I only saw Deandre, Erika, Elise, Skylar and Joshua.

Elise was great, I LOVED that vocal run at the end of the song, it sounded amazing!

Skylar is boring, Deandre is ok but starting to get annoying, Joshua wasn't as great as last week and I loved Elise's hair but the performance was just ok.

My Dad told me about the others, and I thought Heejun would go after what was said, so I was surprised when Erika went.

I think Heejun will go next week, as he's going downhill and his sense of humour is what's saving him right now.

I love Elise, I don't think she will last though, she doesn't have the fanbase for this competition.

Jessica is so consistent. I also like that she's unassuming, so many great vocalists who join get overconfident with the outpour of positive comments, but she's still humble.

Hollie reminded me so much of Christina Aguilera. Even her vocal styles, the way she moves when she performs and her hairstyle is very 2006-07 Christina.

Not really a fan of Billy Joel, seems a random week for me.

Loved Jessica and Holly. Jessica is so professional and consistant and only 16 WOW.

Deandre was bad which is a shame as he hasn't found his niche since the audition with Jessica I don;t think.

Elise was good, her runs are phenomenal but she has a sound that really annoys me, i.e. the first note of that run is horrible!

I knew when Eirka hugged Elise like yay you're through that she'd be going home. It's almost like the 'old ones' are out of place this season which is a real big shame.

Joshua was good but he's too affected for me. Same with Colton.

Skylar is just average to me, shouty and looks 45.

Phillip Phillips is hot and will probably win but is a bit one note for me.

So far, with how things are going and considering all factors, the Top 5 will be: Jessica, Phillip, Holly, Colton & either Skylar or Joshua.

I want Jessica, Phillip and Colton to be Top 3! :D :D

If Phillip Phillips wins there's no hope left for this show. He's like Kris Allen and Lee DeWyze rolled in to one but even more boring.

I disagree, I think he is far more interesting than Lee and Kris, his auditions and his own style are amazing. I think Phillip is struggling to fit in the themes of American Idol, his real style and artistry is not that of a talent show contestant, and you can see that in him. It's evident that they are trying to make him more commercial, but what's great is that he stays true to himself, and rejects the notion of obeying the mentors.

I don't think he will win though, I think Jessica, Hollie and Skylar are catering to their fans very well (and very consistently) so they're basically going to make it difficult for a guy to win again. I hope Phillip will have some success in his career route.

One of the girls should win or Joshua based on talent.

I hope it's Jessica or Hollie.

No time for individual comments this week but they all stepped up. I loved Elise the most, Colton, Joshua (bar the last few notes), Jessica and Hollie were also great.

Thank god Heejun has gone.

Nobody watching anymore?

I thought DeAndre actually gave his best performance this week! Based on the performances, Holly or Elise should have gone but I'm glad Elise stayed as I generally really like her.

Jessica and Joshua are kinda losing appeal to me now, their duet was fantastic but I wasn't raving about either of their solo performances.

Phillip and Colton were pretty MOR this week, Phillip looks like he's in so much pain when he performs.

Skylar was great, finally something special from her.

Hollie has some off moments lately, I guess it's because she's overthinking about her singing, that's why it ends up like that.

I think Jessica and Joshua are the top two when it comes to song choices and vocals, of course.

I like all the Top 7 this year, I like the variety! :D :D
