1. Did anyone think MDNA tour could have flopped? Really? It was a surefire worldwide HIT!denise wrote:Oh please.....you (not you specifically Argentinoargentino78 wrote:The success of the tour has nothing to do with the album. She could have released anything, a blockbuster or a flop ... people would go to see her live anyway. It's the megastar, the diva, that people want to see...as well as "old" legends like the Stones or U2...they don't rely on how their last album performs to fill stadiums.upushme wrote:Flop? We must remember that MDNA is a project, not just a cd. Only in Abu Dhabi she grossed $11,388,245. It's like selling one million of cds in one day and she'll probably have the highest (or the second highest) grossing tour of all times.
Who else has a flop project like this in 2012?) would be the first jumping on M throat if the tour wasn't smashing as it is.
And don't make it look like the success of the tour it's for granted because it's NOT actually, in these case some of other divas should have her similar gross and success: but again so it's not.
+ Tour wise rock bands (included those that you mentioned) , is known, that have a more fidel public and are major drawn act than Pop star divas in general.
Does it have anything to do with the album? I don't think so... if that would be the case, the tour would be selling poorly which is not the case.
2. Madonna can't be compared to usual pop divas in terms of touring (with some exceptions like Celine Dion). She's a touring force comparable to those rock legends instead... that's her accomplishment. Only hers, that makes her so unique.
