I believe this is pre-tour effect. This chart is for the sales period running July 20-26. The concert happened July 29, so its full effect will be seen in next week's Austria chart update.
That's what I was thinking too but now I'm not so sure. Recently Madonna seems to be enjoying more boosts before the concert takes place than after. Pre-tour effect eclipsing the aftermath was already witnessed in Portugal and France when we analyse both the Stade de France and the Olympia shows. Seeing how quickly the album and the songs slid down the iTunes charts in Austria, I wouldn't be surprised if that was MDNA's final tour result. I hope to be proven wrong as a return to the Top 10 in one of her least supportive European countries would be a spectacular achievement.

Could these improvements have possibly been due to the Vienna concert's effect? I'm sure most of the Hungarian and Croatian fans would have attended that date but whether this sole fact could have spurred some additional sales in their respective countries or not is an interesting question. Logically fans aren't tour effects' direct contributors so the concept sounds a bit fishy but I can't see other reasons why only Austria's neighbouring countries have suddenly sent MDNA up their charts (even though the record's Hungarian trajectory has been astoundingly strong and consistant all the way through).

Olympia effect
What do you expect? There is no single on the air, and everyone who went to Olympia and probably Paris got the album already....
That is still a fairly significant drop. It wasn't declining that fast the week before. She must have lost the "thug" segment of her fanbase.
Exactly. Hardly anyone was expecting it to rise but with all the Olympia publicity and media coverage this drop only means how badly the show's negative aftermath has translated into Madonna's perception. I know that over 70,000 viewers were spread worldwide (so it doesn't mean that in France it enjoyed such a popularity) mostly consisting of her hardcore fanbase but still the exposure of this special show was big enough not only during the live broadcast but also in the media prior to the gig. The backlash's negative effect afterwards must have been huge to reverse the trend so heavily that the album reached the lowest position of its chart life in the end of that particular week. Moreover, even though the French radio is not necessarily keen on turning it up for Madonna's new single, the video gets its regular plays on several big music channels, including MCM so the enormous drop is indeed all but expected.

Any news from Japan? Last time out she was barely clinging onto the Top 200. I'm wondering if she's still there.

Yeh that drop has confirmed what I thought. The UK tour dates had a minimal very short term effect on sales of the album.

Still she still gets very good concert attendance figures- not bad for an artist that has nearly enjoyed a 30 year career - and one that has achieved so much in charts/ sales worldwide. People really shouldnt worry about Madonna's sales of her current album - it is inevitable for any artist once they get past a certain part of their career - I think sometimes the longevity of their careers and the huge body of work they've ALREADY done can work against them as the long- term fans always judge it compared to their best stuff and the people who the record company wants to convert to fans and get them to buy the album just think they'll buy records by newer acts and maybe only buy the 'Hits' albums - see U2, The Rolling Stones and now Madonna.

I wonder if the relatively disappointing figures will affect Madonna's long-term plans regarding her music career. Will she take a long time off? Now I know that there was a 3 year gap after Hard Candy but might she even leave it longer-say 4 or 5 years?

Any thoughts?

^Her gap between Hard Candy and MDNA was of 4 years, not 3.
I don´t see such a huge break happening again , mainly because of her contract with LN (that ends in 2017) and also because she owns Interscope Records 2 albums.
Some people are already saying she´ll release a new album in early 2014.
Denise , we ( Madonna Fans ) will miss you A LOT !

That is very possible. If she takes 2013 off which I hope she does. Ends the tour on a high in the US (wish she would end it in OZ *sadface) and then takes a nice few months off and then focuses on just her music, I can see a release then.

I love MDNA. I love that it shwos a different side to M. A remorsful almost pained side a times. I wish she had more time with the project and had less committments outside of it.

The stability in Sweden is quite surprising to me as virtually everywhere else the album is freefalling.

In Ireland it tumbles down from last week's number 22 leaving the entire Top 100 after the tour effect faded out. Surprisingly, TIC advances 24 spots to number 67.

Even though his Dublin concerts took place a week before Madonna's show.
With Adele's "21" returning for no apparent reason to number 1 this week for its 35th time at the top, it just goes to show how unpredictable sales charts can be.

Speaking of Ireland, TUTR Remixes single was released on iTunes today with the 2,99€ price tag. For now it's nowhere to be found in the iTunes Top 1020 even though there are some old Madonna's hits within:

#287 - Like A Prayer
#381 - Hung Up
#530 - Like A Virgin
#961 - Give It 2 Me

Albums:
#199 - Celebration (deluxe)
#418 - Glee: The Power of Madonna
#490 - MDNA (deluxe)
#533 - Hard Candy (deluxe)
#565 - Confessions On A Dance Floor
#709 - MDNA

"The Immaculate Collection" must be selling almost exclusively on physicals :o if it manages to continuously maintain its Top 100 stray on the national official albums chart.

I wish we had an official singles chart in Poland as iTunes downloads would bring a lot of songs back up a bit (as low as iTunes sales are, they still count). I'm quite glad with this tour impact all in all given that 2 days after the show here's what we have.

#387 - 4 Minutes
#392 - Hung Up
#438 - Vogue
#481 - La Isla Bonita
#536 - I Don't Give A
#593 - Frozen
#653 - Like A Prayer
#677 - Give Me All Your Luvin' (Party Rock Rmx)
#686 - Like A Virgin
#689 - Rain
#695 - Sorry
#709 - Frozen
#741 - Girl Gone Wild
#782 - Give Me All Your Luvin'
#810 - Give Me All Your Luvin'
#840 - Material Girl
#962 - Like A Prayer

POLAND - iTunes albums:
