It is always # | Last Week | Time In | Highest Position - Artist - Song or Album

In this week, Lana Del Rey shows one more time how big she is on my chart. While her current single “Blue Jeans” is still in the Top3 and gets PLATIN, her previous two singles “Video Games” and “Born To Die” both gets DOUBLE PLATIN this week. This is a huge credit, especially that she get this certification for two songs at the same time.

The last time a single got double platin was in 2011 for Adele’s “Someone Like You”, which was the number one of my year-end-charts 2011.

Not only her singles, but also her album is doing amazing on my chart. “Born To Die” is already triple gold and in about 3-4 weeks it can get double platin too. With this, it’s possible for her that she will have the fastest double platin album since my album charts started in 2010.

Former American Idol contestant Adam Lambert lands his first #1 hit this week with his new single "Never Close Our Eyes".

Adam made his first chart appearance two years ago with "Whataya Want From Me". The pop-rock song was written by popstar P!nk and reached #4, but failed to become a bigger hit. A few weeks ago, "Better Than I Know Myself" was released as the first single of his new album "Trespassing" and reached a good 8th place.

"Never Close Our Eyes" is now the second single of "Trespassing" and is making a hot shot debut this week at #1.

Also, the album is making it's debut on the album Top10 at #3. With this, he lands his second Top3-Album. His debut album "For Your Entertainment" started at #4 two years ago and peaked at #2 a week later.

Lana is slaying my charts overall

It is always # | Last Week | Time In | Highest Position - Artist - Song or Album

This week, there are two new entries in the Singles Top20 of two singers, who were never on my charts before. First, there is former American Idol winner Carrie Underwood. Her current single “Good Girl” debuts in the Top20 while her fourth album debuts also on the Album Top10.

Second, there is Marina And The Diamonds. Her second album “Electra Heart” debuted at #1 on the english album charts some weeks ago and now also on my album chart while the first single “Primadonna” debuts also in my Single Top20.

While both didn’t managed to debut in the Top10, there is only one big surprise in the better half: Lana Del Rey! The charts-empress locks another week in the Top3 for her monster-smash “Video Games” – in it’s 28th week! That’s something very unusual on my charts. There are only a few artists which had the same success…

Anyway, there isn’t also a big surprise on my album charts. At least the #1 changed, but that was to expect.

It is always # | Last Week | Time In | Highest Position - Artist - Song or Album

This week, there are a lot of new entries. All of them are Entries of the Eurovision Song Contest this year. While the winner – Loreen – was already on my chart for 11 weeks, she gets a new peak this week (#1)

Also, there are the entries of Cyprus (#2), Greece (#5), Norway (#7), Estonia (#8) and Iceland (#11). Apart of them, there aren’t many surprises. Most of the other songs are falling really hard.

On the album chart, there weren’t many surprises too. Adam leaves the first position after only one week with the Compilation for the ESC is taking it back for the third week.

This week, the Eurovision Song Contest sets some new records. While the compilation itself is the first Compilation of an ESC which spends a fourth week atop the album charts (ESC 2010 was 3 weeks on top, ESC 2011 was 2 weeks on top), there are also three Entries of the Eurovision Song Contest in the Singles-Top3 in the same week! Meanwhile, the winner of this years contest – Loreen – fell of from the first place.

Aside of the ESC, Katy Perry’s new single “Wide Awake” marks her 8th Top10-success out of the Teenage Dream-Era while “Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection” comes back to it’s peak position on the album chart. Also, Taio Cruz can get his 7th Top10-Hit in a row with “There She Goes”.

There are some big falls and more surprises, one of them is Lana Del Rey’s “Born To Die”, which leaves the Top10 for the first time in it’s 25th week in the Top20!
