It's not because sales are so low because they all lack longevity.
This week there was no album falling from the top 10 out of the top 20, which has been normal for the last couple of weeks: How can an album sell big if it falls 20-30 positions in the 2nd week and is out of the top 200 after 3 months? And even albums by actual superstars hardly stay in the top 10 longer than 4 weeks  ...

Just 3 oher albums reaching new peaks this week's top 50: Gotye (#12), Shinedown (#38), and last week's BB200 #1 Jack White's "Blunderbuss" moving #60-#42.

No, they are the actual SoundScan numbers except for the one's indicated with a *, which are albums that are no longer in the BB200/the Whitney albums where exact sales for the first 4 weeks of the year are unknown. I have the SoundScan sales for the BB200, but in screenshot form not text.

Small correction:

07 - 463,406 - 19 - Adele
08 - 462,447 - MDNA - Madonna

Adele should be GREEN for catalog while Madonna should be BLUE for 2012 release.
