#49 in the midweeks according to the Official Charts Company. At least it's set to chart! Such a shame both singles from "MDNA" haven't done better.

The Girl Gone Wild EP containing the remixes currently sits at # 75 in the UK iTunes Album Chart. The single bowed out of the Canadian charts after 9 weeks with a peak of # 42. Other countries have shown successful airplay peaks so far, notably Croatia, Poland and Hong Kong where it reached the #1 position...

I actually think it's a scary world to live in where a Madonna album doesn't produce a Top 10 single in the UK.

It used to be considered a given that a Madonna lead single would be Number One, how did we get to this? I don't mind her becoming an "albums artist" but not even at least one Top 10 single?

^^^ yes. only fans knew she released them. how do you expect casual fans to buy them when she makes herself scarce? this non-traditional promo orchestrated by Guy O. is eroding her high-profile recording status. She's tops with the tour yeah, but no longer a reliable mainstream chartopper. :cry:

GGW did have a nice chartrun in Italy, #4 and spent 5 weeks in the top 10. I know the Italian singles market is small but still

There is a lot of music making it to the top without any promo. If she had released the right singles she would have had top ten hits. But for singles like GMAYL and GGW to do well she would have needed to do tons of tv shows etc.

^^ Exactly, she needs to realise she's not the sort of artist anymore where someone will spot her in the iTunes top 100 and instantly buy her single, like people do these days with Rihanna, Gaga and Katy Perry.

^^^ Girl Gone Wild thankfully re-appeared at # 73 on the UK Charts with it's official release (it previously debuted at # 111). While airplay is nil, the physical and downloads sales managed to push it within the top 100. This is currently one of Madonna's lowest charting singles in the UK, her last one being Masterpiece which peaked at # 68.

All this needed to go Top 40 in the UK was for the video to be played on the music channels! I heard 2 people saw it on Viva and MTV Music ONCE each and the time it was on MTV Music was nearly midnight so i'm assuming the video was banned for daytime and that's why I never saw it?! Just like Britney's "Criminal".
