I'll wait for somebody to post pictures of 'kin' here before I order it. I want to see its booklet!

The artwork is disappointing, plus there's no CD/BD version (despite all their videos are available in 1080p on Youtube)... so, I'm not sure if I'll order it now or by the end of the year, when the price decreases.

Well, the 'order time' will depend on how good is its package - since I already know the music content is flawless.

it's on US itunes as well, but I couldn't complete the album since I already bought 8 out 9 songs, so I just bought goods and it's all good! :lol:

Soooooo! I was watching every single video, from Sever to Goods, and i must say how special and brilliant this whole album, whole project exactly, is. I mean, i watched and listened every single detail and i finally "got" and "captured" this whole project. I would really, REALLY, love to read yours opinion on whole this kin era(like every detail) and what is your point of view on this masterpiece.

I'm definitely gonna write my thought on every little thing i noticed cause this really leaves me speechless, especially since i can relate to this project so much(at least in the way i see it).

Also, this is definitely my favorite album this year, absolutely no doubts(sorry Norah :oops:

). I can't remember when was the last time music made me feel this way...(it might be Bjork's last album, but definitely not this much)

Soooo, i will start my review tonight or tomorrow, if i get too tired. But i'm really blown away by all of this. Truly amazing. Inspiring.

And once again, i would love to see your opinion of this(all of you in this thread) and how you see this whole project!

Oh and i must warn you! You HAVE to play all music videos(starting from Sever) to really feel the magic and the theme of this! I really hope somebody has a different point of view(comparing to mine) cause i wanna hear it so bad!

Here's my review of the whole project! I'll try my best to explain how i feel and to describe things i'm seeing but it will be hard cause i'm not so perfect at English :oops:

I'll try my best anyway!

Ok, so... I'll start! Before i write something about Sever i must say that the only thing might be missing here is the track before Sever... I don't know but i feel like it would be even better(if that is impossible) to start with the song where she's all happy and kinda relaxed! It's not necessary of course cause it's just perfect the way it is, but this way it would be even perfect as a whole feeling and everything, you'll see what i'm talking about... But it would be great if there's a track before Sever where she talks about her falling in love with a boy, in a good way, where she's all happy... Anyway, Sever is a great opener even though i said those things before. This track just puts you in a great mood(weird though) and her voice totally hypnotizes you

I think in this song she's talking how she's totally crazy about this guy but she knows it's not good to give in. I won't be fooled by it's touch... She loves it but she tries to fight that feeling he's giving to her. This part: Almost forgotten the way we used to live for play. To be accepted, i must blend into convention's way and seem universal ways... tell us that thing between that guy and her is shaping to be really serious and she doesnt like that because maybe she feels weak by giving her all to him, and she knows that he's a "cheater" because she titries not to be fooled by his touch. As for the video, in my point of view, that chubby monster is her so called boyfriend. I have another point of view but i'll talk about that later... You see how she dance with him and she enjoys it but at the beginning you can see how she's sad and start dancing with him not so happily...

Drops, well at the beginning of the video you can see she's dancing by herself and i think that shows us that he left her again, and at the end she WAS fooled by his touch. Later on, she's crashing down the building because of him, because of the stuff he's doing to her, because of his leaving... One more drop, costs you all! If he leaves her again she'll be totally broken and it will kill everything they have together! At the end of the video when she's all out of conscience he's there again and that's enough for her because she loves him. Even though she thinks he will kill her with one more drop, he showed and she's all better now!

Good Worker, you can see how he's pulling her threw woods and mountains and everything. She doesnt even know where she's going but she's willing to go wherever he wants, all because of him. At one point she sings Sadly I? have not a friend where you're taking me, she knows that she wont enjoy there, and that she'll once again be all alone with no one because he'll leave, as always!

Play, definitely my fave track! In this part of the album she sings about, i guess, good times with him! She feels so much passion for him and love and everything but you can clearly see that she's all tired, has no strength! She'll dance for him and please him and everything, and she will enjoy in all that with him too, as much as he enjoys! And at the end of the video like she's pulling her self together and she once again give her all in, even she wasnt supposed to do that!

In Due Order, this track REALLY confuses me... And i saw really good and interesting comment at the beginning of the video(don't forget to pay attention to that when you're watching)! But in my point of view, in this track i have a feeling like she's trying to pull all things together. Like she's trying to put back everything in it's right place, in it's right order. Like she's finally thinking the whole thing through, after all the play she knows what's right thing to do, and she wants everything to be like it's supposed to be. Her to be by her self, without him.

Idle Talk, from this point of the album everything is changing. Starting from the weather! In the first half of the album the weather was really dark with snow and with rain, and she was with him in that time. But now, when he's long lost love you can see how the weather changed, you can see the sun and everything. But even though the weather is just how the situation with her should be, it isn't. Her soul is suffering without him, even though the "universe" is saying that it should be better now. Theoretical, she should be happy now, as the weather shows, but she isn't... And she keeps asking herself where is her long lost love. Also, you can see that her coat is all dusty and all she got now is memories and all that dust...

Rascal once again you can see the sun and nice weather but she's still trying to fight of the feeling of missing him. In this track she's singing about forcing herself to forget him, to move on, to live her life easily. She wants to take it all, to try something new, to keep on moving and not staying at one place with him... Whole song she's singing how she's taking it all, and how everything change but at the end(which is definitely my fave part) she's asking her self I am taking all, am i taking? Who is the rascal taking all? Am i taking all?...

Kill this track is all about wanting everything back together! Come on and give this a second coming... She wants it all again, she wants him to try with her once again. She saw that she can't go without him, even though she tried. And even though this want is making her soar she can't fight it! She asks him to come back to her... Oh and also at the end you can see that at first point of view she's wearing a black socks and black underwear but at second point of view she's wearing a white one. I think it means that for her is not good that they are back together(black) but yet she's still happy about it(white). Maybe i'm looking at things way too much :oops:

But that's just a thought.

Goods I was thinking about this A LOT, and i really think she's talking here like they are back together, and not that she's with a different man now! Lyrics convinced me for that, but also that outfit she's wearing, half black and half white. Like they're finally found a cure for every problem and like they finally found a balance between bad moments and good moments(white and black). With a little work(I do enjoy your company but we must work to keep you content) it'll be good, and she has a strength to fight for their love!

TA DAAAAH! Maybe i'm crazy for writing this over an hour but i had to express myself in some way :oops:

This album is just all kinds of amazing and is definitely the best album that's come out this year - every track is just flawless, beautifully crafted and electronic masterpieces in their own right!

Here's my track-by-track review:

sever - I love how this track builds to a climax. It's beautifully haunting but soothing and those xylophone like high pitched noises kind of make it sound like a really somber lullaby. Love the change up in beat towards the ends; its the moment when the album just sparks into life. I love the clarity of Jonna's vocals compared with all the BOUNTY tracks where her voice was distorted/layered.

drops - Oh, that droning bass! It's just gorgeous. I love how chaotic this seems wedged right in between 'sever' and 'good worker'. Jonna's vocals are packed full of reverb and sound amazing over the manic shuffling beats in the background.

good worker - This is my least favourite track on the album; but that's actually really hard to choose. I don't really know why I don't like it as much as the others, maybe because I feel like it doesn't go anywhere, or maybe its too similar to the sound shown in the BOUNTY series and there's not a huge amount of progression in sound. Don't get me wrong though, the synths are heavenly!

play - From one of the weakest tracks to one of the strongest tracks. I love how Jonna and team have done a complete 180 in terms of sound, and thrust this chill-wave inspired track on us. It's sexy, eerie and pimpin'... that is all. I just love it.

in due order - Swirly and so in-your face! Jonna sounds so dark on this track, even though the backing track is upbeat and a bit cheery! I love the contrast... amazing! A lot of iam fans think that this is the weakest, but in my opinion its faaar from that!

idle talk - Amazing. Love the tinge of chill-wave. The synths are just fabulous. I love towards the end where there's a massive richness of synths and it sounds so atmospheric and gorgeous. Combine that with the massive reverb-ed voice of Jonna and its just magical

rascal - I've really grown to love the track recently. I didn't really think much of it when it first was released, but I've slowly appreciated its minimalism and thumping bass. Again, there's the switch-up of the beat near the end which is just amazing. I can see why that bit was used for the kin trailer because its so atmospheric and amazing!

kill - Dark but so upbeat; love the contrast. Its kind of like idle talk's evil twin. Love the break-down and how deep it sounds. I know there's a lot of reverb on Jonna's voice throughout the album, but it just makes it seen so much better and gives the tracks a really rich quality!

goods - An amazing disco stomper and a great way to end the album! Love how the album starts dark and brooding and goods is just a flip reversal of that. Simply amazing!

Raaaa!! Interesting. I need to give this woman a second chance I suppose. I've only really fallen in love with "Y" so far.. being a fan of Kate Bush it feels like I've heard much of this before. I've not understood the fuss about her videos either. But I'll do as you wrote, and watch them all in order, and give the album a chance. The music sounds good, it just doesn't captivate me, or something.

I just listened to this and watched vids + read your reviews. I like Drops best. I kind of have to agree to what Vindrag said. The synths are great, I really like this kind of music. But there is something missing. I feel cold after listening.

Yes! You definitely need to check her out again, but as i said watch all the videos starting from Sever to Goods! It has so many hidden messages and i would love to see other people's opinion! I don't find anything similar to Kate Bush to be honest, except her voice in some of the songs! But beside that, nothing

On the other hand i find her very similar to Fever Ray, am i the only one? Anyway, please do give her a second chance, i hope you won't regret it

Well, i'm glad you at least like it! It may grow with you on each listen, it happened to me
