I thought this had really good viewing figures, no? It'd be a shame to see it go so early.

Similarly, although Gossip Girl (even though I don't watch it but will do soon) doesn't pull in great numbers, it has a massive following.
I'd hate to see Nikita go, it's so exciting and is still getting a decent audience. Plus it and Ringer are quite similar, could they really get rid of both in one year? With One Tree Hill ending and both Hart Of Dixie and Ringer probably going hopefully Nikita will stay for a third and final season.

I hope they'll keep 90210, it's still one of the best shows on TV right now. Thank goodness it has a large following, plus its UK audience is pretty big too (much bigger than that of Gossip Girl). I hope they get rid of Gossip Girl this year as that show is way past its sell by date. It's just so boring, shame about the large fanbase.

The Secret Circle also better get renewed, I love that show.

The current CW show status is awful.

Only The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural are certain to be renewed.

Nikita is as good as dead, Gossip Girl will likely get the OTH treatment and have a short order next season to wrap things up, Ringer may not survive.

I believe any shows (aside from 90210 which I think will just get a renewal regardless of numbers) will get a 13 episode order initially.

They do have ALOT of promising pilots coming up this season though.

Arrow - A tv series based on Green Arrow butnot linked to Smallville.

The Carrie Diaries - S&TC prequel

Cult - a drama about a series of crimes apparently copied from a television series.

Beauty & The Beast TV series

The Selection - which is somewhat similar to The Hunger Games - is set in a war-torn future and follows a young woman who is chosen by lottery to compete for the role of quee

First Cut - focuses on a young, socially awkward female doctor who is excited about finally joining the world of work

Personally though I can't see any of them working. All sequels and remakes or rip-offs (Hunger Games, Scrubs/Grey's)

The network is doomed. It would serve better as a network that revives cancelled shows whose numbers weren't big enough for the big 4.

Looking at CW ratings post hiatus...

Vampire Diaries
Secret Circle
Supernatural
90210 (purely as a safety net)
Hart of Dixie

Will all be back.

To put viewership in perspective Gossip Girl is getting similar viewing figures in a primetime slot in a nation as large as America as Hollyoaks is getting here.

The Vampire Diaries, The Secret Circle and Supernatural are the only shows in lock for renewal. America's Next Top Model just got renewed. Mark is very high on those shows.

I don't watch Gossip Girl but if it's appealing to the same demographic as Hollyoaks (don't know the figures but I'd imagine the massive majority of its viewers are 16-25) I think it'd stand a good chance?

^ Its demos have actually been quite low (only amnaging 0.5 recently - which is The CW's lowest demo for a scripted show since this season).

With that being said, I just can't see The CW axing the series. Although ratings haven't been great, it's garnered a massive following, bigger than any other CW show (bar The Vampire Diaries) in my opinion.

Gossip Girl is one of the CW's lowest rated shows. It barely gets 1.1 million viewers a week. The CW pilots are getting alot of buzz and rumor has it that CW plans on axing alot of shows. Gossip Girl will most likely get a 13 episode final season if Mark Pedowitz doesnt like the majority of his pilots.

We've established that! But it's not always about ratings, I was just saying that because Gossip Girl has such a big following, it could be renewed on those grounds.

It also depends what the pilots that The CW have comissioned are like.

Oh I read that wrong, I thought muzik_biz_wiz said that it was getting the same comparative viewers in the US as Hollyoaks is here. That is really low then!

I already said that its renewal depends on the quality of the new pilots! The CW executives and many other network execs said ages ago that they dont renew shows based just on following. Mark Pedowitz doesnt seem to favor the show like Dawn Ostroff did during her reign.

My Thoughts on the Shows in Danger:

Rules of Engagement- CBS really doesnt like this show. Earlier this year Nina wanted to bury it on a Saturday night but she changed her mind.

90210- Deserves to be cancelled because ratings are BAD and its not as good as the original. Most US viewers seems to hate this show according to focus groups.

Gossip Girl- Overstaying its welcome. Should've been cancelled years ago with its low ratings and demos.

Raising Hope- Poor ratings. Plus FOX ordered too many comedy pilots this season with big name tv stars attached to them.

Hart of Dixie- Low ratings. The CW already has a replacement for it called First Cut.

Ringer- Low ratings and SMG's high salary.

Nikita- Low ratings

The Finder- American Idol is its lead-in and it cant keep half of is viewers. Already going on hiatus.

Pan Am- already cancelled according to the cast's tweets.

NBC shows except for their reality stuff: Really bad ratings. Thank God that they ordered alot of drama pilots.

A Gifted Man- Definitely getting cancelled. Close To Home and Ghost Whisperer had the same ratings and those shows got the axed.

Unforgettable: Doing OK ratings wise. facing tough competition with the pilots.

Terra Nova- 50/50 chance at being cancelled or renewed.

Alcatraz- Ratings are dropping each week. Not good.

Fringe- FOX might just order a fifth and final season.

Body of Proof- Most likely cancelled. ABC has about 12 or 13 drama pilots to replace this.

Cougar Town- Likely cancelled due to low ratings and ABC's high profile comedy pilots.

The River- Bye Bye

Sanctuary- Still no renewel yet after over 2 months.

I find it odd that industry experts are so adamant body of proof will go its ratings aren't by any means the worst out there.

I think that The CW might save 'Hart' and pair it up with 'First Cut'. Medical dramas just seem to fair well.

Beauty and the beast sounds rubbish.

I'd go with:
Monday: 90210 and Gossip Girl (13 each) with The Carrie Diaries

Tuesday: Hart Of Dixie and First Cut (both starting with 13, option of back 9)

Wednesday: Reality

Thursday: 'Secret Circle' and 'Beauty and the beast'

Friday: 'Supernatural' and 'Cult'

Sunday: 'Vampire Diaries' and 'Arrow'

The problem with the shows is they dont all match up too well to other shows to air in blocks they should reconsider having a sitcom/half hour show night or re-running old series (Reaper/Smallville etc) to fill out 'Super hero night'or somethingh.

RE: Gossip Girl

There is something to be said about a following though isn't there? I mean, Neighbours has stayed on the air here for years nearly purely because it can be and is sold to so many overseas markets. Nowadays, it's the #1 show on the FTA digital channels, so it has found its niche again... but the point still remains.

I've only seen Season 1 and Season 2 of Gossip Girl, so I can't wholly say as to whether it has overstayed its welcome, but my sister informs me that Season 5 is crap.

I hear Terra Nova is cancelled, but they're shopping it to another network.

Given how much it costs to make, I wouldn't get your hopes up. I really can't see another network picking it up.

I'm a fan of Gossip Girl but at this point I'd be happy to see it gone, it's just getting gradually worse and the cast involved should move on to better projects. The same goes for 90210, that just keeps getting worse, and Hart Of Dixie is crap so I wouldn't mind seeing that gone either.

Revenge will definitely get picked up again and deservedly so - it's fantastic!

^I *love* Mike & Molly.

More about CBS:

How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory and Survivor had all been previously renewed.

Two and a Half Man will depend on whether or not Ashton signs on for another season.

Shows that did not receive early renewals: Unforgettable, Rob, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, A Gifted Man, Rules of Engagement-- all bubble shows.
