I was a casual Usher fan, but think I'm turning into a more serious fan of his work. First of all, I didn't even know he had an album out. Therefore, I gave it a quick listen, and didn't feel impressed (apart for "Dive", which has a cool production). I ordered "Confessions" because it's his best album to my eyes, and also bought "Here I Stand" because it's been sold here for €3  I like his Urban material, but I won't be here for his pop soundings, because they are so generic and formulaic that I can't connect to it. He did too much of a good work w/ "Confessions".
"You have given me the courage
To be all that I can
And truly feel your heart will
Lead you back to me when you're
Ready to land"

Yeah, absolutely. I think the release of the Pop singles ["OMG", "DJ", "More", "Without You" + "Dirty Dancer"] really helped to re-gain his popularity outside the US, and that probably made them hyped for this album.

As posted by Romain in the Aussie chart thread, you can see his debut sales progression in Australia:

Uhser - Confessions 11,928 (#2, 2004)
Usher - Raymond V Raymond 3,262 (#7, 2010)
Usher - Looking For Myself 5,303 (#3, 2012)

We don't have a figure for 'Here I Stand', but it did go to #1, probably with similar figures to LFM debut week.

worldwide debuts and figures are not bad at all, he is becoming more and more internationally successful than just home, which is defo caused by more POP-oriented material

Yeah, it's almost like much of the rest of the world is in direct contrast with the US. If he does urban-only he's got little to no chance in much of Europe, for example, yet with pop he'll lose his core fanbase in the US. Life is hard for millionaire popstars

UK Sales

Usher's seventh studio album Looking 4 Myself toppled Sing in the first midweek sales flashes and looked capable of becoming his fourth number one but it faded considerably as the week progressed, and ends up debuting at number three (26,965 sales). It is the second Usher album in a row to set the early pace but fall short of the summit, following Raymond V Raymond, which debuted at number two in 2010 on sales of 40,788 - 213 behind Plan B's The Defamation Of Strickland Banks - after having a 20% lead whittled away. Immediately before that, Usher had three number one albums in a row: Here I Stand opened at number one in 2008 on sales of 56,897; 2004 release Confessions topped the list with first week sales of 98,272, and 2001’s 8701 claimed pole position on introductory sales of 42,706.

I wondered what kept the people from buying Raymond vs Raymond... I mean Confessions peaked at No. 2, Here I Stand at No. 10, Raymond vs Raymond at No. 47 and Looking 4 Myself again at No. 8... That's kinda weird!

Not in Germany... Climax stayed nearly unnoticed and Scream also is doing a bit moderately (More and DJ weren't huge hits here, but definately had some success compared to Scream).

What a letdown. :(

Timmy - By huge impact, I wanted to say that Climax announced Usher's comeback, even though its trajectory was nonexistent.
As for Scream, I think it's not really massive at the moment but it will become a moderate hit. :)

Same thing happened in NL! Top tens for the albums before, then Raymond vs Raymond peaking at #34. And now Looking for Myself is #4. So weird,
