From reading all the tweets between them I don't see where Rihanna called her fat or ugly. It must be the girl's own perception of herself to be that way when Rihanna said "neither is your avi".

And I would not call this bullying. It's both ways. It's a fight. No one is being bullied here. If anything, "fat cheeks" is the one with the aggressive and violent tones in her tweets.

EDIT:
urbanmusik wrote:Rihanna deleted most of them. She retweeted loads of things her fans were saying about the girl and said how that girl must love to eat cake, playing on the Birthday Cake lyrics in relation to her weight.
Oh, LOL

Well, see... Rihanna was just joking after all. :)

I think Rihanna was silly for taking the bait. What this chick initially tweeted was deliberately provocative and deliberately aimed at her, with the intent of Rihanna seeing it.

You would think with her life, Rihanna could just let it go and yes, what she tweeted back was immature... but the successive tweets This Chick responded back with were straight nasty and violent and far worse than anything Rihanna might have insinuated by taking a dig at her avi.

The other thing is its very possible that two weeks ago with the same tweet, she wouldve handled it much better. I can imagine after the last week's barrage of Rihating that she'd probably fed up with the whole damn thing.

Not clever of Rihanna, she should be setting an example and rising above it, not setting her fans on somebody who merely posted the same opinion millions of others may share.

Celebrities were so much better before Twitter and Facebook. They've lost their sense of mystique and unattainability and now just seem as stupid and flawed as any other person.

Are you surprised?

This is what I whole heartedly agree with. The celebrities may have been just the same but their attainability wasn't I mean literally some 'no one' is able to get a rise out of a megastar. Celebrities on Twitter like Rihanna (who actively use it themselves) are so attainable and accessible it's too much IMO. Facebook is kinda different because a lot of the time they'll have their publicity page and perhaps their own personal account for friends.

I actually like it now, because at least, I know who to support, and I can actually have a sense of judgment about their personalities this time, and not be just blindly following, adoring and praising them and their every career move without knowing if they're really worth it.

I would only like to add one thing - If we compare two situations: in the first one a celebrity bullies someone and in the second one a normal person does the bullying. The main difference is that a celebrity has an influence on other people and that millions of people read her comments. How can you say it's the same when a normal person does it? It's definitely not the same.

Of course I know celebrities have always been the same as everybody else deep down, but it used to be so much more about the musical output. Now it's about every inch of their private lives and they're the ones spilling it out all over the internet. Being a popstar was some wild dream that every teenager had and they aspired to be like their idols, now those popstars are getting into slanging matches with random nobodies and showing how awful their grammar is. True idols are so hard to come by now, if Twitter had been around forever do you think The Beatles and Michael Jackson would have so many adoring fans?

Rihanna was baited. Rihanna ate the bait. It's the girl's fault for visibly trying to attack Rihanna. But, Rihanna should have known better than to eat the bait. She's a megastar compared to that thing. She should have continued on.

It is not what some of her detractors ON UKMIX are trying to make it out to be. She is no different than the majority of stars. She, for what we know, has been kind and gracious. Loads to say from some of you about class when - just looking at the posters, your faves have:

1. Fired friends and family for nothing and without notice
2. Beat, physically, on people
3. Shrugged their responsibilities to their children
4. Flipped the finger at everyone
5. Stolen people's music, without proper credit

And even more things... yeah, that's class. But to respond to a twitter detractor who clearly harasses your decision to make a song with an ex by deflecting attention to her avi is classless. Ok.

It's not Rihanna's fault she is 24. I don't say that to excuse her age, but to reference the advent of social media. We don't know what Madonna, Whitney, Aretha, Cher, etc. would have done in the YOUNG primes if these were available. We have heard stories of most of them being bitches behind doors at one point or another though. So, what's the difference? The fact that they didn't have a twitter or FB because it wasn't invented?
"Take A Bow"... Rihanna's ONLY ballad to go #1 on the Hot 100 (also topped the R&B Chart)... Great deed for her most epic ballad!!!

Danbarj is right...

I mean, I'm torn and confused when it comes to Rihanna.

Sometimes, I can't stand her but other times, I need her. She's just so damn irresistable. And it pisses me off...but then, it kinda turns me on.

I'm like Alicia: fallin' in and out of love.

Rihanna was out of line for that. She should've either taken the higher road or just ignored that tweet.

But I'm going to overlook it. Just like I have with the rest of her mean-spirited tweets. Just like I've overlooked Chris Brown's antics.

Both Rihanna and Chris Brown are young. They are still learning and still trying to curb their flaws.

Like Danbarj said, most people who stan for Madonna or Jennifer Lopez or Christina Aguilera or Beyonce or Kanye West or Jay-Z or Prince or whoever don't realize how nasty and heartless they can be.

I can go in on anyone of them for doing things just as bad or worse than Rihanna...or even Chris.

So...people in glass houses really shouldn't throw rocks.

Just something to keep in mind.
