5. I Still Believe / Pure Imagination (ft. Krayzie Bone & Da Brat): 10/10 > seriously it doesn't get better than this remix. Some other of her remixes are en par with this one. Mariah is the queen of remixes.

biscuits wrote:Your ratings are so low, even though you say you like songs!
That is why I put the songs in relation to other songs. A rating of 5 (of 10) would equal a C in grades. So, when I rate a song 6 or 6,5 then that's like a B in grades. But there are other songs I like more and I'm not one of those who gives each song that I like the same grade. Even Mariah did songs that are good and others which are outstanding.

4. Bliss
I imagine this is how angels would sing (except they probably wouldn't sing these lyrics!)
This song is just so dreamy and listening to it makes me feel like I'm floating, leaving behind everything here and just at total peace. (That's not supposed to sound suicidal!)
The intro of the birds singing sets the song up perfectly and the whistles are used very well (I know some fans think the whistle is used too excessively). The lyrics are sexy, without being over the top, and are reminiscent of Janet Jackson I think. My favourite part is the bridge, but the overall song is perfect to be honest. I guess some people might think it drags on for too long, but I think the length is just right - a song like this isn't supposed to just abruptly end, it should take its time because it's so soothing and relaxing, so you need time to complete the journey of this song! (This was my #3 up until the last minute!)

Bliss: 4/10 It's not one of my faves. I think it wouldn't make my top 50 of my favourite Mariah songs.

"Bliss" is a nice song, but it wouldn't chart in my top 50, I think.

Bliss is one of the more interesting songs she's done, either that or it can be called a vocal mess but I quite like it

This ugly song wouldn't even make my top 70. From my interaction with Mariah fans over the years "Bliss" is either a song you LOVE or just HATE. I only like the bridge.

No love for 'Bliss'.

It's probably received more negative feedback than all the other songs on my chart. :(

LOL at all this passive-aggressiveness ("wouldn't make my top 50 though").
It's a flop song that's placed a bit too high.

My fav flop song is "More Than Just Friends".
However, I think it would place outside the top 25.

3. Always Be My Baby (Mr. Dupri mix)
I bet y'all thought you'd seen the last of 'Always Be My Baby' at #11? Well...no! Another remix makes my chart - and this one SLAYS.
It samples 'Tell Me If You Still Care' by The S.O.S. Band - a song which I adore! So, perfect melody - check!
Next, Xscape's harmonies - OMG! FLAWLESS! Best part of the song.
Mariah's vocals - yep, they're amazing of course. Much better than the original - more emotion I think.
Da Brat is kinda annoying as usual, but it doesn't bother me much.
All these different elements come together so well. This remix is just so infectious and I never get bored of listening to it. I've been using this word a lot, but it is so smooth - really easy on the ears and easy to just sit back and groove to. It's also a song which is perfect for any mood I'm in and it matches all the seasons! (Some songs sound better in summer or winter, but this one sounds amazing all the time!)

Compared to the remix, the original is too light and poppy. And it's too mainstream! (You may have noticed that I'm not a huge fan of things becoming too mainstream - which is why all the 'Mimi' singles crashed out early).

I love when something is too light. Makes me forget about the bad things around me. :)

All my top 6 would score 10/10.

My #7 (Honey) would probably be 9.5/10.
