She slayed the song for me and made me interested in it so I do consider it the single that kept her career alive!! She needs to back that up with her next solo release though!GetBack wrote:Regardless, "Moves Like Jagger" is still considered a collaboration. Christina's singing contribution as much of it being heard for 10-40 seconds only is still credit. You cannot deny her being part of the song's success. The thing is, though, it's not really her own single.
Her part is the most interesting thing in the song imo. So yes, it really helped her career recoveredmimifan09 wrote:She slayed the song for me and made me interested in it so I do consider it the single that kept her career alive!! Well, i think Moves Like Jagger saved Xtina's career for a short period, just like how I Know What You Want saved Mariah's career. Hopefully, we'll soon get Xtina's It's Like That & We Belong Together.biscuits wrote:Again, it can't be said that 'Moves Like Jagger' has saved Christina's career at all. Firstly, she is just a guest feature on the song and she hasn't released anything since. Her next album might be another Bionic flop. We just don't know at this point.
Her career was just as fine as Ciara's is now.Merci wrote:Break It Off went top 10 (without a video) only months before Umbrella was released! so no, her career was fineneoepzilon wrote:Rihanna - Umbrella
Yes, Umbrella brought her to superstar status, but her career was okay during A Girl Like Me era. SOS hit #1, Unfaithful and Break It Off hit top 10, and she got her first platinum album.neoepzilon wrote:Her career was just as fine as Ciara's is now.Merci wrote:Break It Off went top 10 (without a video) only months before Umbrella was released! so no, her career was fineneoepzilon wrote:Rihanna - Umbrella
+1 It only saved the Era but her career was not in danger.argentino78 wrote:Nope!BlueScorpion wrote:Does "Irreplaceable" count for Beyoncé?
It didn't save the B Day Era as there wasn't anything to Save, as Deja Vu was the lead and went #1 in the UK and #4 in the US and then Ring The Alarm was only released in the US and went to #11 and was certified Gold. Also, B Day gave Bey her biggest first week sales of her career and that was before the release of Irreplaceable, so the B Day Era was never in a need to be Saved, Irreplaceable just furthered it's success.PosziMC2 wrote:+1 It only saved the Era but her career was not in danger.argentino78 wrote:Nope!BlueScorpion wrote:Does "Irreplaceable" count for Beyoncé?
Irreplaceable helped the era a lot in my opinion. 'B'Day' was flopping in the UK.joel77m77 wrote:It didn't save the B Day Era as there wasn't anything to Save, as Deja Vu was the lead and went #1 in the UK and #4 in the US and then Ring The Alarm was only released in the US and went to #11 and was certified Gold.
