I don't think Usher gets enough credit as a "survivor". We're so quick to point out how Britney and Beyonce are vets, Usher was around before them. I think we take for granted how long he's been a big name.

I agree. And if stans can throw around the "legend" term with those two then he definitely deserves the title.

Beyoncé isn't a legend, nor is Usher. The word is so overused these days. Britney at least impacted Pop Music, but even though Usher is very skilled at what he does, I hugely doubt he will ever be seen as a "Legend", maybe more as someone that was very successful.

Confessions is the concrete example of an album that released the perfect single choices from start to end. "Yeah!", "Burn", "Confessions", "My Boo" and "Caught Up" all were on point, and I think the fact that R&B/hip-hop was the current favorite genre during those years helped him and so many other R&B artists' success (like Ashanti, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Ciara, Mariah Carey and Chris Brown) at that period (2002-2006).

I own Confessions and I really gotta say that it's an album full of moderate songs and four (respectively five) smash singles... So to be honest it was a real bluff package and the reason it got Diamond really were the singles, not the album as a whole (unlike e.g. Jagged Little Pill, Come On Over, Come Away With Me).
Albums like Confessions or e.g. Oops! I Did It Again are the reasons why people doubt an album being good as a whole and just pick the singles thinking they are the only highlights on it.

I totally disagree! I do, however, think the album in its entirety is appreciated more by lovers of contemporary RnB. I never hear these type of opinions anywhere but ukmix lol

It's subjective and, imo, shouldn't even be mentioned with some of the other albums...
