Lol this got outta hand real fast.

For a much fairer battle, I'd still say that Chris isn't even close Usher when he was 23 either. 8701 slays anything Chris has done thus far.

HOWEVER, Chris still has a decade to catch up. I'm just not sure if he'll be willing to. There's no lie that Usher fell off during his 4 year long break after Confessions.

will.i.am and 40 :)

And I've seen in a few sites that "2nd Round" was produced by David Guetta and Afrojack ... I don't know if it's true...

Can't wait for the album. This one, Chris's, Bieber's and Trey's are gonna be my most anticipated albums of the year.

But why is my man Bryan-Michael Cox missing from any R&B records lately?

Twisted is going to be the best track :)

Weird How the male singers aren't collaborating with females it seems rnb wise.

I just thought it was a bit boring. The album was stripped back and Usher at his most raw and What's Your Name was just an auto tuned borefest. It's the only track I skip on that album.

B-Cox is still making R&B, just not with the popular ("commercial") names. "Another B-Cox joint...", that is the seal of approval line, lol .

I respect Usher alot and regard him highly for what he has done over his career.

BUT... for me he is slightly tainting his image.

I'm so dissapionted that he is more focused on making pop (or should I say "Rev-Pop") music than making quality music. Yes, I won't lie, I want to hear a majority R&B album, with max 2 or 3 pop songs to sell the album worldwide. But, even if he not making R&B, it should still be quality. From what I've heard so far, he's done neither.
1. This album will likley have 50:50 split musically.
2. Of the R&B songs, neither of them are or will be Usher classics imo. Even if you compare each of the 3 like for like singles from this album with RVR, RVR wins 3-0 imo:
Papers > Climax
OMG > Scream (and I don't even like OMG)
Daddy's Home > Lemme See

When you think about Usher's current situation he should have alot of meaning lyrical content in his songs. Also, looking at past songs like "Nice and Slow", "U Got It Bad", "Confessions", "Lovers & Friends", "Love In This Club" etc. these recent songs are not even close to the level of those songs. I know people will disagree with me about "Climax", but for me the chorus lets the song down, because otherwise the verses are quite good, but because of the chorus, I personally can't listen to the song.

I feel he's conforming into making what he thinks he's supposed to make (as though there is a formula) as opposed to making what he wants to make and making people listen to it.

I know alot of Usher fans might disagree with me, but I feel many are in denial about the quality of the recent music. I say all this because I am actually a fan of Usher, not just another hater, but I might be the only 1 with this view.

Well that's your opinion and that is fine but personally wait until the album actually comes out before you judge the material. We can't assume the album will be 50:50 because we haven't even hears the whole thing yet! and many usher fans will agree that his material, lyrically, isn't what it was after Here I Stand. However I will disagree that papers > climax. Imo climax is a stronger lead both lyrically and production wise. But that's my opinion that doesn't make me or others in denial. The Raymond vs. Raymond era was a big step off and the music wasn't very strong but as for this era I'm not sure how it measures up yet and I will not compare it to his previous eras until the entire album is releases and we can judge every song to his past works.

I liked the idea actually.. I agree about

OMG > Scream

But

Lemme See > Daddy's Home

and

Climax >>>>>>>>>>>>>> It is a marvellous mark in Usher's discography already imo.

"Climax" is easily not only the best song by Usher in a very long time, but also one of his best songs ever. There's a reason why its critically acclaimed and many people who don't even like Usher (critics wise) were mad surprised.

People who don't normally listen to R&B liked the joint too, it's the perfect mix of R&B and electronic, giving it a futuristic feel.

I personally found "Papers" to be tame, but a good song. Just not on the same level as "Burn". "Climax" take it to a new level with its quiet storm elements. That's just me though.

OMG thank you!

That is what I was saying that Usher is talented blah blah but that doesn't mean that he is making good music.

I will take Treys Heart Attack over EVERYTHING from this era.

But I like the sound of twisted

"Climax" 7 weeks at the top! Longest running song at number 1 since "Yeah!" for Usher since 2004. What does that tell y'all?
