I just heard Big Hoops on the radio for the first time and I can't see it becoming even close to a hit... Top 40 in Germany won't be impossible but I can't imagine it to reach the top 20, because it's not a track to develop into a radio smasher or people connect to something. Maybe the song just has to grow and the music video can change things but I don't see it turning into a successful lead single like the previous English lead singles I'm Like A Bird, Powerless or Maneater...

It's out of the top 100 in CANADA *her homeland * , and only charting in like 2 random countries... this is a disaster if they don't HURRY UP! The album is out in 1.5 months!
It feels like Folklore 2.0 !!!
If it does as well as Folklore in Germany at least I'll be fine.

Folklore started relative low: Perhaps because many people had low expectations in her after the decent Whoa Nelly-era. Then Forca came and it helped so much that it could reach the top 10. I think now she's too known to debut low and reach a new peak some late time, though this of course always looks impressive... Many of today's flop albums debut high today (once a high debut was a great sign of potential great overall success) and fall fast, that is why it's hard to judge nowadays. It's just that every single has to push album sales high over a constant and long time to guarantee an overall success, because new peaks for established artists are very hard to get.

Loose sold 2.1 million in USA
NELLY FURTADO 06.20.06
First week sales 219,000
2,115,00
WOW, the album sold 10 times its first week sales in the total: Great ratio. Though considering Say It Right was a huge hit, the constant single success could've done more than just one additional week in the top 10, but overall it did well...
