No one mentioned Erykah Badu? Erykah and Lauryn are the best!

I've never thought M.I.A. as a rapper, or Erykah Badu. :-?

Well she's a funny one, her style is quite individual, she isn't a singer but rapping is the nearest thing I can think of! Her music is great though. 8-)

Lauryn Hill completely slipped my mind...

She's awesome too.

Erykah's more singer than rapper.

Lauryn, Foxy and Kim are the best lyrically to me!
"Take A Bow"... Rihanna's ONLY ballad to go #1 on the Hot 100 (also topped the R&B Chart)... Great deed for her most epic ballad!!!

Missy Elliott used to be a good producer and very creative, but her lyrics were sometimes quite stupid. That's why I must go with Lauryn Hill - she raps a lot more naturally and with deep, thoughtful words.

She's NEVER really rapped. She's done some "spoken word" though, but that isn't rap.

I think some people just look up Black female artists and list them here without knowing their real work!
