it doesn t matter that it was the song of 2005 , beautiful was not the hit of 2003 but is more more relevant than WBT now in us, vogue was not the hit of 1990 in us and is more remembered than one sweet day , the song of 90s ,really WBT is not so much remembered in us , 4 sure Hung up was a bigger global hit than WBT ,but 4 sure wbt was a huge moment to mimi

Neither of those songs strike me as songs where everyone knows all the lyrics to, or had something iconic about them like the songs I mentioned. I don't think success is just based on charts/radios although I guess it depends on how you look at it. I think impact is more important than charts though.

well you are right but Hung up was a bigger global hit , and in us it could be bigger , but magde promoted it poorly , and mariah promoted WBT with all her heart ..

None of these songs was as successful as Poker Face, Rolling In The Deep, Someone Like You, Umbrella, I Kissed A Girl, Hips Don't Lie or Bleeding Love.

Really?
I am Portuguese and, to be honest, I feel like Hung Up was a much bigger hit than We Belong Together...

I agree.

In 50 years, no one will care about the sales or radio airplay.

hips don t lie ? , yes my dear but Hung up has a guiness record , really most of the songs that you refer will be less remembered than hung up in 4 years

who remember hips don t lie ? , im latin , and that song is a hasbeen, even in mexico, shakira s devoted market , she can t compite with alejandra guzman s volverte a amar, that its maybe the most played song by a female artist since 2000 in Mexico..

Poker Face has more numbers on official charts that Hung Up, what happens is that countries that do not have official charts credited to Hung Up and why more than a Poker Face.

Everyone knows I prefer Mimi to Madge, but I think 'Hung Up' was the bigger hit. But maybe that's because I'm from the UK, so I didn't really experience just how huge 'We Belong Together' was in the US (and vice versa for all those people in America).

poker face had a huge impact because it was when a mega star was born , like madonna with like a virgin , but the fact that magde got an amazing hit with hung up after 22 years that she started , and only 5 years after her last MEGA HIT , Music , was amazing too

The fact that it has been a success in his career does not make it the biggest song of the 21st century by a woman.
