Why doesn't anyone accept that it it is HIPS DON'T LIE?
Hung Up was just a modest hit in the USA, the most important market, so it can't be the most iconic.. it has to be a hit that it's iconic in all emispheres... Shakira nothced a record in the USA at that time for most downloads in one week , and most pop spins , in Latin America it was an obvioius mega hit... in the UK it was #1 for 5 weeks, as well as 16 weeks at #1 in the Mwedia traffic, that unimportant chart that many consider overrated, but still...
it was a hit in other areas as well of Asia, Africa, Europe, Oceania... how isn't it the most important?

Hips Don't Lie The was a success, but if you compare the numbers obtained the Top 5 that I mentioned lost in everything.
Examples Hips Don't Lie does not appear in the list of the 100 most successful songs of the decade 2000's in Billboard Hot 100, Poker Face and Bleeding Love if.
Hips Don't Lie just it remained for 10 weeks in the top 10 Billboard Hot 100, Poker Face, Bleeding Love, Tik Tok, Rolling In The Deep and Someone Like You were more than 17 weeks in the Top 10.
Does not appear in the most successful songs of the decade in Australia, Poker Face, Bleeding Love and Tik Tok if they appear.
In the United Kingdom all the songs mentioned above have sold over 800000 copies with the exception of Hips Don't Lie and Tik Tok.
Crazy (Gnarls Barkely) that was launched in 2006 has sold more than a million, a song of 2006 could sell a million in the United Kingdom.
Longevity if only joined the weeks in the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, France, Italy, Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, Flanders, Wallonia and Norway which are the countries where they have the full weeks of Hips Don't Lie this song has less weeks that the other 5 mentioned.
Remember that United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Australia, Canada, Japan and South Korea. are the markets of most important singles.
In addition the official charts singles are the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, France, Netherlands, Wallonia, Flanders, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Japan and South Korea.
The other measure airplay.
On the basis of these countries must remove the song more successful, as India, China, Indonesia, do not have official charts and not sell both United States.

People don't accept 'Hips Don't Lie', because even though it was a big hit, it hasn't had as much impact as other songs, such as 'Rolling in The Deep' and 'Poker Face'. It was a smash single, but nothing else.

It was successful in a short time but it didn't have an effect of longevity like the others (though it hit No. 1 in Japan which is a rare thing).

From the songs in your top 10, I'd say that the top 10 should look like that:
1 Poker Face/Rolling In The Deep
2 Poker Face/Rolling In The Deep
3 Hips Don't Lie
4 Someone Like You
5 Umbrella
6 Bad Romance
7 Bleeding Love
8 We Found Love
9 I Kissed A Girl
10 Tik Tok

Though I wonder whether you excluded Single Ladies on purpose or forgot it. I think it was more successful than Tik Tok.

The problem of Single Ladies is that fault in many markets of Europe Example, Switzerland, France, Germany.

Yes it didn't chart or didn't chart well, but though the impact has been even notable in those countries.
I for example would say that Single Ladies' impact has been bigger in Germany than Beautiful Liar which once reached No. 1.

3 - Hips Don't Lie - Shakira feat. Wyclef Jean - 2006 - 9.845.000 points
4 - Poker Face - Lady GaGa - 2008 - 9.840.000 points
5 - Someone Like You - Adele - 2011 - 9.713.000 points

10 - No One - Alicia Keys - 2007 - 8.665.000 points

If you count songs with a female as a featured artist as well, than "Love The Way You Lie" - Eminem feat. Rihanna would rank at #8 - 9.077.000 points (above "Bad Romance")

Bleeding Love, Someone Like You and Tik Tok were more successful and long lived that Hips Don't Lie.

A couple of other giant hits that no one has mentioned - Avril's 'Girlfriend', Fergie's 'Big Girls Don't Cry' and as ridiculous as it sounds, Las Ketchup's 'The Ketchup Song'?!

Anyways, I'm not a Mariah stan, but 'We Belong Together' *was* a huge hit internationally (#1 here for 2 weeks, #2 in the UK etc.), it just isn't quite in the same league internationally as the other tracks being mentioned.

These were the highest selling* female singles in Australia 2000-2009:

#4. Lady GaGa // Poker Face
#6. P!nk // So What
#10. Taylor Swift // Love Story
#11. Las Ketchup // The Ketchup Song
#19. Delta Goodrem // Born To Try
#21. Shakira // Whenever Wherever
#22. Katy Perry // I Kissed A Girl
#23. Leona Lewis // Bleeding Love
