Madonna | Turn Up The Radio

Guy O. confirmed this to be the 4th single off the album which would seem a safe choice given the song's radio-friendly qualities: upbeat, danceable and positive vibes. Turn Up The Radio could be remotely similar to BEP's I Gotta Feeling and Craig David's Insomnia. The only drawback is the rather uninteresting chorus ("Turn up the radio, don't ask me where i wanna go. We gotta turn up the radio.") and the draggy bridge part between 2:16-2:50 which seems like an everlasting half-a-minute down-tempo interjection. It could've been cut to 15 seconds then compensated with chorus repetitions till the end because it is supposed to be a dance track! This has kinda grown on me and I really enjoy listening to it now.
Still, it's one of my least favorite songs off the album.

the video to be shoot in Rome on June 10th.

The set should be outdoor...and the concept is very festive and recalling holidays in italy...
they also say there should be some religious thing inside...no more details available...

Just so good to hear that she put some efforts in and hasn't opted for a more easier Live Video Performance 8-)

You can't deny one thing...yeah she didn't promote this album, but she cares more about this era then she ever has since Music.

She's totally commited to filming music videos, the music is great this time around, the tour is great, etc...something that was lacking last era :wink:

I think over the years she has took it for granted that her name alone will sell etc. Which hasn't been proved since Music. Although Confessions did succeed in sales and bring her 'back' for a while.

But because of the huge competition in female artists of today. Plus, all the negativity from the Lady Gaga comparisons etc. She has had to step up her game to keep her crown and relevancy.

Ok, I wish M luck on this single. I mean it.
But the thing is..there is lots of sumer anthems coming out and ya gotta try to get through the masses of young bodies with ripped abs and silicone tatas to score a hit for the summer...Quite difficult if you ask me, if "TUTR"is your submission.

If ya did the acoustic "love Spent" and made a dark video (a la Frozen) in Rome, Turkey and Abu Dhabi, U wouldve been different and probably would regain some extra airplay, seen as it is a ballad.
I mean,look at 2011 - last year.. Adele....

But anyway, lets hope the track will be a hit for M. She deserves a no 1 in my opinion, seen as she really works her frakkin' ass off...

Few points:

1) Madonna HAD to promote Confessions because American Life was a disaster, and she saved her image with RIT. She had to promote a new album if she wanted it do well, and the album was AMAZING. Hard Candy wasn't a disaster because of the success of 4 Minutes and the S&S Tour.

2) I still think Hard Candy was one of Madonna's favorite albums. Something about it, I can see her personally like it and I think it is underrated. While not nearly as good as Confessions or MDNA I find it enjoyable.

3) I'm so excited for TUTR to be a single. I absolutely love it. It's a great summer single, and not only do I love it but it's both my younger sister's (a country music fan) and my mother's favorite song on MDNA.

4) Love Spent is amazing. I wish it was a single, and the last 2 minutes of it are probably one of my favorite parts of any song Madonna has done ever. The change is my favorite part.

What video? for all we know it's just her MDNA Tour performance with a guitar edited interestingly just for the sake of having a video. Look at what happened to Miles Away back then, it flopped with just a performance video made colourful. she should get out and film on location or studio. if she can't then there's no point in releasing this dire summer single.

I think it has been confirmed she will shoot a proper video, It's NOT going to be a live performance. The location will be Rome, Italy.

An official piece of information about the story brought to you by fellow fansite Drowned Madonna a few days ago comes today from Live Nation Italia.
Quoted in an article by Italian daily newspaper la Repubblica, Live Nation's Roberto De Luca confirms the news about plans to shoot the video for "Turn Up The Radio" in Rome on June 10th, two days before the MDNA tour concert at the Olympic Stadium.

"The project is real, talks are underway but preparations have not started yet", he also says.

The set would allegedly take advantage of the archeological treasures of the ancient Rome and De Luca also confirms that Madonna's camp is looking for a product placement deal for the videoclip.

I only hope she doesn't do something quick and cheap, where she just dances (like in Celebration) or where she just walks (Love Profusion) :-?

Guys it's ok that she is releasing a new proper video....but we should for a while try to lower our expectation: don't forget she's got just a little bit less than 2 days to shoot it, than there are the rehearsel for the show etc:so seriously....don't expect too much :lol:

I'm sure it'll be better then Give It 2 Me, Jump, Get Together, Celebration, etc...so fine by me! :wink:
