Radio 1 wrote:Two Door Cinema Club say their new album will be more "intimate" than their first.

The band have announced that Beacon will be the follow up to their 2010 debut Tourist History.

The trio, from County Down, lived together while writing it and then went to LA to record the tracks.

Lead singer Alex Trimble, 22, says the follow-up is a more "intimate record than the first but, at the same time, it's much bigger and more inclusive".

Beacon has been produced by Jacknife Lee, who's previously worked with Bloc Party and REM.

It'll be released in September.

The band lived together while writing the songs for the album, something Alex previously said was helpful.

Speaking last year he said: "We live in a nice detached house so there's no real problem with bothering the neighbours or anything so we can usually make as much noise as we like."

"We've set up a little rehearsal space in our basement and a studio in one of the spare bedrooms, so we've got a nice little comfortable set-up here."

Tourist History sold more than one million copies worldwide.

I'm interested to hear this.

They are in massive danger of the dreaded 'indie second album slump syndrome' (former victims: The Ting Tings, MGMT etc.).

'Tourist History' was pretty great, I'm excited to hear new stuff.:)
JimJim, are you referring to 'slump' chart-wise or quality-wise?

Can't wait for this, I hope they play some of their new material at Belsonic in August.

I don't think they will suffer from sophomore indie slump syndrome. "Tourist History" took ages to catch on, so it seems like they've followed up quickly given the pace of the album's success. Plus their material sounds like it could be perfect for adverts again from the album trailer.

I can't wait, it's nice to have a successful Northern Irish band.

Oh that's a shame... I don't think they are as likely to be affected as some pop acts though..

I really like the album on first listen. It's gonna take a few more listens for me to get into it, but it seems like a nice progression from their debut at the moment.

It's him on Caliban's Dream by Underworld at #5 for past two days on iTunes. Thread: http://www.ukmix.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=92154

Sleep Alone is OK but i've not been convinced by them at all as yet. Curious album cover.

The entire LP is streaming on Grooveshark already and I have to say it sounds pretty good. Not really a change of pace. Several gems like Sun, Someday & Sleeps Alone.

I like this album on first listen, they never amaze me like for instance Alt J did with their debut but I like them.
