I'm not sure you ever got around to listening to Carrie's Carnival Ride and I'm also recommending Whitney's Whitney album.

Since BLover only posted one album, I will let your third count for his second one, unless BLover has another one.. :)

Van Dyke Parks - Song Cycle - by crazycrazy

Image
Since I got time now, I will start :D. Hm.. bear with me haha!

This album started so randomly with a very hilli billy track and then stopped and a slow song stared playing, thought it's all in one track haha. I love it already as I do not know where it's going to head. The music itself is fantastic! I love his voice as well as the old sound. It makes me feel like I am in that time period listening to it, very magical. It is the same sound that makes me love it, and also makes it a bit tiring at times. I do love how it is a bunch of sounds and is still very well put together though. The unconventional-ness to it is very attractive. I do find the interludes a bit random, they don't really add anything in my opinion. Overall the music is definitely memorable and stands out! It's interesting how one track is just pure music! Lovely! Though rather short, it was a very, very satisfying listen!

    Pros: Music; Voice; Timeless feel
Cons: Interludes (except one) ; Nothing else really, except at times it does drag a bit.
    Stand Outs:

    1. Palm Desert
    2. By The People
    3. Public Domain
    4. Colours
    5. The All Golden
Overall Rating: 8.0/10

I listened to the first two songs and it is too much a musical for me. Reminds me of Mary Poppins.

Wow I'm happy you liked it so much on first listen, it's not for everyone, it has a really charming/individual sound! It is unconventional and lavish, I love Van's voice as well! I would have chosen "Widows Walk" & "Vine Street" as highlights aswell but "Palm Desert" & "The All Golden" are great picks too!!! :D

Sigh No More - Mumford & Sons - by Timmy94
Image
Although I already won this album, I thought it was also just ta good opportunity to write a review for all those who wonder about my feelings towards this album (if there is any :P). Anyway... When I first listened to this album I was awestruck at the sound, it was a perfect mixture of folk and indie music. All the songs are perfected with a banjo, or a perfect lyric, or some amazing percussion. The main singer's voice is very graspy and aggressive, but can just as quickly become sweet and welcoming. I love it! It's very strong. This is a very strong effort and just overall epic. The lyrics are beautifully written and it's sound is timeless. I just love this! When I bought it last year, I could not stop listening to it! One of my favourite albums in the past couple of years! It's also an appropriate time because the band just announced their sophomore effort is coming this fall. It was about time! Luckily it got amazing success despite not being mainstream at all, and miles better. Can't wait to see what they have next
Pros: Voice, Music, Lyrics
Cons: None really..
    Stand Outs:
    1. White Blank Page
    2. Dust Bowl Dance
    3. Thistle & Weeds
    4. Awake My Soul
    5. I Gave You All
Overall Rating: 9.0 /10

swiftie, I know it takes a lot to listen to an album and then write a review but could you do it a bit faster  ?
Because at this current speed, some of them reviews will follow just next year and as you might know, we are excited what you think about our albums 8-) .
