Kinda funny that both artists were the ones to have the biggest drop for a No.-1-album on Billboars 200 :o .

Billboard 200/Catalog Albums Chart Update - July 21, 2012

Brothers In Arms: The Black Keys' "Brothers" takes over the #1 spot on the Catalog chart, despite dropping from #39 to #43 on the Billboard 200. It does retain a bullet as it drops, indicating an increase in sales despite the drop.
The Black Keys are Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney from Akron, Ohio, USA. Only one other duo has reached the summit of the Catalog chart, and that was Bill Medley and the late Bobby Hatfield, better known as The Righteous Brothers. "The Best Of The Righteous Brothers" was #1 for 19 weeks in the Catalog chart's inaugural year, 1991. Two other albums billed to two individuals have reached #1 since then: John Lennon and Yoko Ono's "Double Fantasy" in October 2010, and Paul & Linda McCartney's "Ram" last month. Neither of these meets the proper definition of a duo.
An album dropping on the Billboard 200 and yet retaining #1 on the Catalog chart is a common occurrence, but "Brothers" is the first album in over two years to rise to the #1 spot while falling on the Billboard 200. The last was Michael Jackson's "Number Ones", which rose one position to #1 Catalog on January 23, 2010 despite a drop from #33 to #35 on the big chart. ("Journey's Greatest Hits" moved from #3 to #1 on the Catalog chart on August 14, 2010, while holding at #81 on the big chart.)
Also, "Brothers" is the first Catalog #1 outside the top 40 on the Billboard 200 since December 10 of last year, when Susan Boyle's "The Gift" was #1 despite being #45 on the big chart. The 31-week string which just ended ties for the second longest since the top 200 sales records of Catalog albums have been revealed; another string of 31 weeks began on May 7 last year, with the return of Adele's "19" to the top 40 sellers, and ended on December 10 with "The Gift" being the top Catalog album. The longest such streak is 33 weeks, beginning on July 11, 2009, the week after Michael Jackson's death (when "Number Ones" took over the top spot by storm), and ending on February 27, 2010 when "Number Ones" dropped to #47 (though it was still #1 on the Catalog chart that week).
"Brothers" is the third album to reach #1 that debuted on the Catalog chart in 2011. The others were Kari Jobe's "Kari Jobe" and Susan Boyle's "The Gift".

Trivia Question: "Brothers" and "The Best Of The Righteous Brothers" are two of the three #1 Catalog albums with "Brother/s" in the title. What is the third one? Answer below.

New On The Charts: None of this week's eleven entries on the Catalog chart is a new entry. Two albums, however, make their first appearance on the chart in years. The soundtrack to "Top Gun", on sale for $2.99 this week from digital retailers, returned to the chart for the first time since 2004. It has 177 weeks on the chart, second only to "Grease" among multiple-artist soundtrack albums, but for all its longevity has spent only one week in the top 10, on June 21, 1997 when it was #8. The White Stripes' "White Blood Cells", their breakthrough album from 2002, returns to the chart for the first time since 2003 when it spent eight weeks on the chart and reached #30. It's still the only White Stripes album to reach the Catalog chart.
Among the other nine re-entries, three reach the chart for the first time in 2012 but charted in 2011: Jimmy Buffett's "Songs You Know By Heart", Katy Perry's "One Of The Boys", the "Footloose" (1984) soundtrack, and Tom Petty's "Full Moon Fever". The first two of those have been to #1 on the Catalog chart. For Buffett's album, it's the 20th different calendar year that it has placed on the Catalog chart, missing only 2003 and 2005. Perry's album gets a boost in the same week that a 99-cent one-day sale caused her "Teenage Dream" (not yet a Catalog album) to surge to #2 on the big chart.
"Top Gun" and "White Blood Cells" both spend their first week on the Billboard 200 as Catalog albums.

Milestones: Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" reclaims the title from "Fleetwood Mac" as the longest-running Mac album on the Billboard 200. The two albums swap places on the Catalog chart (50-to-40 for Rumours, 40-to-50 for Fleetwood Mac); "Fleetwood Mac" reached 149 weeks on the big chart last week, the same as "Rumours", but it falls off the chart today as "Rumours" returns and also reaches the 150 week mark.
Linkin Park's "[Hybrid Theory]" reaches two years (104 weeks) among the top 200 sellers as a Catalog album.

Chart Multiples Update: Linkin Park loses three of four chart entries, and Led Zeppelin also leaves the list, but one addition brings the total to seven:
1. Taylor Swift: "Fearless" returns to the Billboard 200 and "Speak Now" also posts a modest gain.
2. Eminem: He's down to just two entries this week with "Recovery" and "Curtain Call". The latter drops off the Billboard 200.
3. Fleetwood Mac: "Greatest Hits" remains in the top 10 while "Rumours" and "Fleetwood Mac" chart in the lower rungs. Fleetwood Mac is the only artist to post three albums on this week's chart, even though "The Very Best Of Fleetwood Mac" drops out.
4. Maroon 5: "Hands All Over" and "Songs About Jane" both drop, but remain on the chart. The first is still in the top 10.
5. Michael Jackson: "Number Ones" drops but remains on the chart, alongside "The Essential Michael Jackson".
6. Pink Floyd: "Dark Side Of The Moon"drops as "The Wall" rises. In the last two years, "The Wall" has charted regularly after a lengthy hiatus from the Catalog chart.
7. The Beach Boys: "Sounds Of Summer" is back in the top 10 and posting decent summer sales again, and another Beach Boys hits package, "20 Good Vibrations", also returns to the tally.

Catalog Notes: Expect Zac Brown Band's "The Foundation" to make a strong bid for #1 next week as their latest, "Uncaged", is expected to enter at the top of the Billboard 200 next week. "The Foundation" jumps 10-to-3 to spend its first week in the Catalog top 5. Bob Marley's "Legend" also makes a strong move this week from #35 to #4, its second highest position of 2012 on the Catalog chart.

Thats a common practice in public relations people

Promoters and especially the spokespeople from artists want the advertise a sold out world tour. Even if a venue can hold up to 20000 people but 'just' 10000 have been sold, they like to say 10000/10000 sold out. If the demand would been bigger they would put up the other 10000 tickets on sale. and if all tickets on sale didnt sell they remove all tickets on a sale just before they close the box office, so it says sold out. you can pretty much claim sold out shows everywhere using that tactic.

Unlike the last tour, Her Madgesty did multiple shows in a region at around the same time- i.e. Italy. Last time, there was just one Italian show- and then a year later for the second leg, she hit Milan. This time, they took place around the same time.

Clearly, grossing almost $50 million and selling almost 420,000 tickets from just 14 shows is a rousing success. :P

^As said, oversaturation- hitting multiple venues in Italy at the same time- perhaps a result.

The stage wasn't positioned at the end of the field, it was moved up so there were less seats available.

And none of those are actual sources. Live Nation and the venue are the only ones who know.

What is it that makes it chart so long on this chart consisting of just 25 positions?
