Is Carly Rae Jepsen still at the top for a fifth week ? Is it Shy'm ?
Is it a good week for Chris Brown, will.i.am, Shakira, and Emeli Sandé ?
And what have Pitbull and Khaled in common ?
Please go to http://francemusiccharts.wordpress.com/ ... july-2012/. Thank you ! :)

You can find the top 50 here http://musique.premiere.fr/TOP-50/Top-5 ... illet-2012
Anyway I will update my article tonight with the sales figures and (if I have enough time) the top 100 positions.

aaa ...so you know the french charts faster...cheeky cheeky hehe... nevermind i will not die because of half of a day.... anyway i feel sad as you...no new entries in whole top 50... everybodys on vacations? hehe. actually it was easy to predict when you observe the i tunes charts.
without all french rnb staff, french charts looks exactly like i like... some german- euro songs, lots of vacations tunes and pitbull very high...i just want birdy to go away and put timebomb of kylie instead of this...hehe, and wonder why lucenzo and sean paul colaboration is so low? they both are very successful in france but only separated, together not anymore? hehe... and actually song isnt bad. i hate khaled...with passion... first in poland (when normally i live) aicha was not only mega mega hit but also polish guy named magma made his coverversion...and it was even hugest than khaled's one... terrible experience... aicha was everywhere ...whole year...brrr, and after all, in egypt (when i work) one guy, named khaled cheated me for my 2months sallary 2 years ago... hehe and besides this c'est la vie is nothing special. i want gala in top 50! thanks gary for all your information and maybe mylene farmer will release something soon and she will blow up the charts! hehe

For example, what has happened to last week's numbers 12 and 18 (Lykke Li and C2C) and many others such as Chris Brown.....garycharts' commentary says it's up from 34 to 27, which sounds much more likely / realistic, as indeed does everything in that commentary! Does anyone know what, if anything, that above top 50 represents?

( And, unless the "real" chart replaces it today or tomorrow, could anyone who knows what numbers 12, 13 and 14 should be please post them here? )

http://musique.premiere.fr/TOP-50/Top-5 ... illet-2012

is now showing what looks like a correct chart, matching up completely with the commentary, while.....

http://musique.premiere.fr/TOP-50

is showing what I posted above, but with all the "last week" movements matching up with last week's official chart ???

Wow, when I saw your messages and the new top 50 positions, I was "OMG, poor me (lol), for once I could write the commentary on Tuesday, and then...", but it was obvious it was a fake chart (so many movements, haha).
Thanks guys for your interest !

 i thought we may have something in common... hehe

...but i also think about something... how come the franch charts can have 200 positions??? specially when as you wrote no30 sold 2000. ? how many copies sold then no 199? ... 2 or 3? it must be something like this... i also remember when some mylene farmer no 1 sold 5 000 ...it means that no 200 must be sold 1? so if i buy gala new single 10 times she could be top 150...probably... very bizzare

You are right, earache. Sales figures in France are so low (in comparison with the US or the UK, for example) that having a top 200 singles chart is irrelevant. It's difficult to know how many copies or downloads a number 200 can sell.
I really enjoy talking about that with you all ! :)

@earache: At the time Mylene Farmer was No. 1 with such low sales, the French Single Chart only included 100 positions, though the chart was only physical-based which had the effect that when physical sales started to get worse (in France physical single sales are still higher in terms of population than in other countries), the No. 100 single was sold 30 or less times.
When downloads were included, the chart was extended to 200 positions as the No. 100 single sells a few hundred copies now.

It doesn't work like that. The lower down the chart you look, the more consistent the sales become. A little bit more than a month ago when Shy'm heavily discounted all of her past singles and they suddenly reentered the official Top 200, we got their sales and they were as follows in that particular week:

70 RE 02 Shy'm - Je Sais [840 exemplaires vendus]
78 RE 25 Shy'm - Prendre L'Air [796 exemplaires vendus]
90 RE 23 Shy'm - Tourne [708 exemplaires vendus]
107 RE 19 Shy'm - En Apesanteur [594 exemplaires vendus]
119 RE 13 Shy'm - Femme De Couleur [522 exemplaires vendus]
126 RE 29 Shy'm - Si Tu Savais [470 exemplaires vendus]
127 NE 01 Shy'm - Je Suis Moi [468 exemplaires vendus]
131 RE 23 Shy'm - Victoire [454 exemplaires vendus]
146 RE 21 Shy'm - Oublie-Moi [404 exemplaires vendus]
147 NE 01 Shy'm - La Première Fois [404 exemplaires vendus]

As you can see, between number 70 and number 150 there is a difference of roughly 440 units only so the Top 200 can easily exist with the access to it being reserved only to songs with over 200-250 copies weekly, I reckon.

I'll definitely be very interested too!!! Singles chart has mainly crap music while in the albums one you can find a lot of interesting alternative music records.

Apologies if this has been asked before- does the French charts include downloads? The sales for the number 1 are very low if downloads are included.

Thanks for the link and the charts Gary.

Yes, it does. They've been included since February 2011.

This is indeed correct.....

.....as is, I think, everything here except the line I have highlighted. Apart from the occasional act (eg Mylene Farmer) who can still shift a lot of physical singles, I get the very definite impression now that very few physicals now sell in France, for the following reasons:

The physicals-only top 100 continued to run alongside the new combined chart for about a year, ceasing in February 2012 - probably because less than a hundred different singles were then selling physically in a week! There had been occasional reports of very low sales - for example, Cascada's "Evacuate The Dancefloor" was revealed to have sold a total of NINE copies in a week (about a year after it was originally released) in which it was the number 100 physical single in France!

A separate downloads-only top fifty has also been published since the combined chart began, and still is. But now it is almost identical to the combined chart - from which it can be deduced that very few hit tracks are even released on a physical format in France (or they are selling so few that no improvement arises in the overall position!)

This week, the only differences between the top fifty downloads and the top fifty of downloads and physicals combined are as follows:

Downloads
05 RAYOS DE SOL - JOSE DE RICO FEATURING HENRY MENDEZ
06 WHISTLE - FLO RIDA
07 TACATA - TACABRO

Combined
05 TACATA - TACABRO
06 RAYOS DE SOL - JOSE DE RICO FEATURING HENRY MENDEZ
07 WHISTLE - FLO RIDA

Downloads
36 LIVE MY LIFE - FAR EAST MOVEMENT
37 WIDE AWAKE - KATY PERRY
38 VIDEO GAMES - LANA DEL REY
39 MA VIE AU SOLEIL - KEEN'V
40 I CAN ONLY IMAGINE - DAVID GUETTA FEATURING CHRIS BROWN AND LIL WAYNE
41 ZUMBA HE ZUMBA HA - DJ MAM'S
42 MY NAME IS STAIN - SHAKA PONK
43 DOWN THE ROAD - C2C
44 LE SENS DE LA VIE - TAL
45 JE PRENDS LE LARGE - TAL
46 DANCE AGAIN - JENNIFER LOPEZ FEATURING PITBULL
47 SOMEONE LIKE YOU - ADELE
48 PUMPED UP KICKS - FOSTER THE PEOPLE
49 ROLLING IN THE DEEP - ADELE
50 AVANT QU'ELLE PARTE - SEXION D'ASSAUT

Combined
36 DOWN THE ROAD - C2C
37 LIVE MY LIFE - FAR EAST MOVEMENT
38 WIDE AWAKE - KATY PERRY
39 VIDEO GAMES - LANA DEL REY
40 MA VIE AU SOLEIL - KEEN'V
41 I CAN ONLY IMAGINE - DAVID GUETTA FEATURING CHRIS BROWN AND LIL WAYNE
42 ZUMBA HE ZUMBA HA - DJ MAM'S
43 MY NAME IS STAIN - SHAKA PONK
44 Z DANCE - COLLECTIF METISSE
45 LE SENS DE LA VIE - TAL
46 JE PRENDS LE LARGE - TAL
47 DANCE AGAIN - JENNIFER LOPEZ FEATURING PITBULL
48 SOMEONE LIKE YOU - ADELE
49 PUMPED UP KICKS - FOSTER THE PEOPLE
50 ROLLING IN THE DEEP - ADELE

The two tracks highlighted in dark red are the only ones from the downloads-only top fifty whose physical sales have enabled them to overtake those just above to get a higher position in the combined chart, while the one in blue must have strong physical sales, enabling it to be top fifty overall for a fourth week despite never being in the downloads-only top fifty.

So these would appear to be the only three physical singles currently selling in any significant quantity (and probably still not very many at all!) in France.....

Cheers maroon and CZB.

I didn't realise sales were so low in France. Is there any reason why downloads haven't taken off in France like they have in most other countries?
